Moderna #2 is swimming around in my bloodstream as of an hour ago and the Vegas countdown can officially begin!

My better half received her 2nd Pfizer shot today. No side effects so far other
than she's a little tired and camped out in front of the TV. Not wanting to work!

    covid-cation :) (vaccination? more like vaccine-cation am I right)

Also, I really want to see what California's vaccine signup apps and websites are going to be like on April 15th when California opens up the vaccine to everyone (I've been waiting...) Hopefully they don't all crash from server load.

Just wanted to give an update after I got my 2nd Pfizer dose yesterday. Last night and this morning I was feeling sluggish and had some body aches and a headache, wasn’t horrible but it was noticeable. This afternoon I’m feeling a little tired and my arm is sore but that is it. Now I’m excited for my trip to Vegas in a few weeks!

Appointment on Friday here in MD! I have no idea for what because the site I'm going to gets what it gets and you find out when you get there, I guess. I'd heard about a site that a lot of people didn't know about (I actually haven't seen it listed anywhere), filled out an interest form, and they emailed yesterday for appts tomorrow and Friday. So I got lucky w/seemingly very little effort. So far. We'll see.

The second shot today was a breeze. In and out in about a half an hour, which included the 15 minute wait. Speaking of In and Out, we went there for lunch. For some reason it wasn't quite as exciting as having a burger in Vegas. It was funny, I got two cheeseburgers but only ate one. We rolled up to an intersection and there was a homeless guy with a sign that said something like "dreaming about a cheeseburger". I hope he enjoyed it.

I got Moderna #1 at the area Ho Chunk tribal wellness center today. They opened it up to the general public, with no age or health restrictions. (I’m one month shy of 65). There were so many people!! I came 30 minutes early and the line was already 3/4 around the outside of the building. And it was cold, in the 30’s out. Took 2 hours to get inside. A worker said they were expecting 2500 people according to preregistration and a few getting shot #2. It was worth it to me to get it done.

That's not even CLOSE to being accurate.

Regardless of where soccer players get tapped, they immediately grab their shins/ankles with both hands. If one were to clutch his arm, that'd be a yellow card.

Neither of us had any reaction to the 2nd Pfizer shot yesterday. After the first shot my arm was a little sore, but I don't even have that this time. Couple friends got their second Pfizer shot last week. She had a sore arm, he had a headache, but they still managed to play golf.

Moderna. Chills have been pretty awful but no spike in fever yet or anything else, knock on wood.

Better to have the fake rona than the real one, though.

Getting #1 Moderna tomorrow afternoon. Wife completed her Pfizer dosing three weeks ago and she's headed to Vegas with her BFF next weekend while I'm stuck at home for the time being. I'm not too jealous since she definitely deserves a break and I'll get to resume my Vegas jaunts early this summer!

So, how long do you think is appropriate to use this "vaccine side effect" thing to avoid work and home responsibilities? You know, just asking for a "friend".

I plan to hit the couch around 3:30 on Saturday afternoon and I have about 3 weeks worth of stuff queued up on my streaming services. Do you think that might be too much? I mean.. "my friend". I love my job, so I would never. ;)

Okay, I got my second (Moderna) shot, and a mystery has been solved, kinda ...

To be honest, it was the most painless shot I can ever remember! I did not even feel the stick, really! I did sense the administration, but it was not unpleasant. The only sensation I felt was her holding up my sleeve. No pain at all, and no soreness, yet.

I'm feeling somewhat blaaah, but I'm not really sure. Not obviously more blaaah than I usually feel about this time. I did take a quick power nap for an hour or so when I got home, but that's not unusual. Not really tired, just super glad to get the second shot and be on my way to being not only Merely Immune but Really Most Sincerely Immune (tm). :)

Now, {imagine flashback four weeks to me not being told to wait 15 minutes after the shot} I asked the lady at the podium why last time I was not told to wait for 15 minutes, and she said that they should have told me to go over to the main pharmacy building (the shots were given in a repurposed warehouse to the west of the pharmacy) and wait there for 15 minutes.

So, when my number was called to go into the room for the actual shot, I figured "don't ask, don't tell", and I didn't. :) So, I said nothing, except remarked that it was the most painless shot I ever remember, and she replied something like you get very good at it after so many thousand shots, and then said "That's it."

I walked out into the parking lot, said "Thank you" to the volunteer in the safety vest, half-way expecting him to point me to the pharmacy to wait, but all he said was "Have a nice rest of your day" and I walked to the car and split.

Oh well, so it goes. I guess I now wait for 10-14 days for max immunity, then wait until the world gets back to normal so I can party like it's 1999. :)
