This happened after my second shot as well, but prior to the booster I drank an astonishing 100 ounces of water: no side effects at all. I know it's a ton of hydration and kind of a pain, but maybe worth a shot (no pun intended).

More water is never a bad thing... I'll give it a try, thanks for the tip! I think I'm still going to wait until I get back, because if it doesn't work, I don't want to have to be in meetings while constantly nauseous.

So I got the booster (Pfizer) last Thursday at 9am and, well, I felt the side effects more than my 2nd shot. I don't wish to dissuade anyone, and I'm very (VERY) thankful I was eligible to get it, but I'd advise people don't get it during the work week.

After getting mine at 9am, I felt fine most of the day - arm was surprisingly not sore at all - and while I felt a bit tired later in the day, nothing significant. Then at a bit before 5am the following morning, I woke up freezing, alternating between chills and roasting hot (I'm 200 lbs for context, and I don't get cold), in effect, drenching the bed with sweat. The next day, I had to go into a gov site and this was a bad idea. I felt lousy most of the day, hit a fever around 100 and my arm was indeed sore, but I couldn't head home because my deputy- who's asshole decision to not get vaccinated had me having to do this work in the first place (I digress) - wasn't allowed to go onto a federal site. Thankfully I was alone most of the day.

Then, on Saturday, I woke up feeling almost back to normal and ended up drinking that night lol.

Long and short, I'm very happy I got it as my immune response indicated that it's clearly working and, whilst I felt pretty lousy for 24 hours or so, it probably was exacerbated by me working 2 full days immediately after and, in all likelihood, not drinking water prior. I'm 34 for context, and heard some younger people have had more severe side effects. Not sure if the FDA/CDC has opined on this, however.

Hopefully this provides some context, but I've heard people having a litany of experiences (including with no side effects) so experiences may vary.

@44inarow Yeah, in March it was a big deal to even be able to get a shot. The state kept pushing the senior timeline back. When we were finally able to sign up you did so online and then had an assigned time. The National Guard were giving them at the state fairgrounds. First you waited in a line of cars to park, then a line outside the building, then a line inside the building to get checked in and from there the final line to get the shot. Longest lines I waited in since Disneyland.

Huh...this is something I might try this week before my shot. Spend all morning drinking water to see if it helps. Thanks for this.

Anecdotally, I have heard of more people having reactions (flu like symptoms) to the Moderna shot than the Pfizer one. I had Moderna and the second shot knocked me on my ass for about 18 hours. I am hoping that the booster being only half the dosage won't be as bad but that's why I am doing it on Friday and not in the middle of the week.

hope all of you getting boosters avoid infection when you are soon in Vegas, I got breakthrough Covid from a Vegas visit in the beginning of October, a little disappointed in Pfizer efficacy since I was only about 6 months past vaccination

As long as you didn't end up in hospital, I wouldn't be too disappointed.

Means the vaccines doing what it should do, and you should have super strength breadth of immunity now, too.

We got our Moderna boosters this morning and so far not even a sore arm. We're going to Reno/Tahoe in a few weeks and wanted to be as safe as possible.

I’m getting my Pfizer booster tomorrow. Deliberately scheduled it for a Friday at the end of the day, just in case. Neither of the first 2 shots bothered me beyond a sore arm.

I had mild side effects from my booster... a little worse than second shot.

Still, very mild. Mostly headache, very low grade fever.

Pfizer'd up for the 3rd on Thursday, and nothing but a sore arm.

Along with my 2 Astrazenecas, it should have me turning off TVs in the sports bars when I get to Vegas

Did you end up in hospital or very ill? I would expect breakthrough cases to be common but the severity of the illness is why I chose to get the shots

And for those who give a rat, I have an appointment for my booster next Thursday. (Woo-Hoo!) :) Yeah, I'm of that age, but I'm in denial.

My first two were Moderna, but I'm thinking of doing the booster with Pfizer. The pharmacy said I have that choice.

I could have gotten in this Friday, but I think I have some of the others talked in to going casino hopping Friday evening and I don't wanna have that blaaaah feeling until I don't have anything planned the next few days.
