Man, anybody who remembers ESSO must remember when there was no such thing as self service gas and no fuel injection as well as promos where those tiger tails were given to customers along with other "gifts".

Fun fact, in NJ they are not allowed to offer a promotional item contingent upon a purchase of gas. I can remember multiple times as a kid, we pulled into a Mobil station to get gas, and the attendant would hand over the item before you even told them what you wanted. I think my mom still has one of those drinking glasses!

And I remember a competitor advertising, "We Strain Tiger Hairs."

Isn't NJ also the only state left that doesn't you to pump your own gas?

Oregon was included until about a year ago when it was repealed.

It sure is. I for one would prefer to be able to pump my own. I am apparently in the minority around here.

Yep, and I live in the only town in NY (Huntington) that still does not allow self serve under their fire code.

Well I grew up in NJ where it is the lone state I believe that does not have it,but speaking of other gifts, besides Green Stamps, one station in my town used to give away baby chicks around springtime if I remember correctly!
