Just reported on VPFree2. A bank of 6 quarter machines near the LV Blvd entrance now offers full pay VP. It's not a mistake either because they are offering only 1 Tier Credit per $50 coin-in.

    The games listed above 99%.
"Not So Ugly Ducks" 25/16/10/4/4/3 Deuces (99.73%)
    9/7 Triple Double Bonus (99.58%)
    9/6 JoB (99.54%)
    9/4/4/3 Bonus Deuces Wild (99.45%)
940/18/7 Kings or Better Joker (99.29%)
    8/5 Bonus (99.17%)
    9/7/5 Double Bonus (99.11%)
    99.07% Deuces and Joker

    http://www.vpfree2.com/casino/cromwell

DDB was NOT listed. But if anyone is around, I would like to know if DDB is there and what its paytable might be. Sometimes people leave off 9/6 DDB (98.98%) on VPFree2 because it's technically below 99%. Could Cromwell actually be dumb enough to leave DDB, the most popular VP variant by far, off? Also why only 25c? Are there other denominations in the bank? Worse paytables? I'm a bit surprised Cromwell wouldn't offer this as 25c-$5.

Also just reported on VPFree2, the 25c-$2 9/6 JoB and 8/5 Bonus machines at NYNY that don't earn any points are no longer. :(

Good news, hopefully a sign of improvements to come across the entire CET VP landscape....not holding my breath though!

Obviously this is the work of a rogue slot manager. Expect them to be sacked.

I'll be there in a week. Are there any code words I should mention to the folks sitting at those machines.

Play the Batman slots just behind them--you'll get paid better.

Interesting. Clearly the .25 denomination is designed to make sure nobody racks up any decent points, comps, or theo on these machines. It is still welcome that CET is willing to experiment with full play machines. I hope they get a lot of play.

So while this is awesome news for the LV grinder who will sit and put in 4 to 6 hour sessions and enjoy the improved payback. Does it really matter to the rest of us who do much shorter sessions?
I have been chasing better paying VP and bartops in LV the past two years, guess what, it hasn't meant d*ck in terms of more Royals or Wins. In fact I have a 3 year history of winning zipo, nada, bunkus on those great paytables at The D.

The few Royals I have gotten this past year have been on shitty 7/5 .25 CET Boner Dlx and 6/5 JoB. Looking at my historical play, for sessions of 400 to 600 hands I have seen pretty much zero statistical difference.
Does this mean I will give up the opportunity to play better paytable VP? No if its readily available I will gladly play it. But if an available bartop is there for my 1 hour or less session at .25, I'll gladly take the shitty paytable for convenience and good cocktail service.

I saw these myself. The eight games reported to vpFREE2.com are the only games on those machines at least as of today. No DDB. And 25c is the only denomination.

Thanks for confirming, Yokel. No DDB at all is terribly shortsighted though, imo. Many VP players will play nothing but DDB.

Only one tier credit for $50 play? They're testing if we are about the pay tables or the comps. If the machines don't get much action, they can happily revert to bad games and tell the suits we don't care.

If you do play them, you won't have enough comp dollars to pay for much.

Not me... seems like I may need to give some play to Cromwell when I return if it lasts that long.

Interesting thought. Also it may be a test about how important DDB is in the lineup. I'm predicting these won't be played too heavily thanks to both reduced tier credits and no DDB. I hope I'm wrong though.

And yes you won't have a lot of comp dollars to spend, but you should have more real dollars to spend by losing less! But a lot of people will ignore that.

Exactly!! Who cares about comp dollars when you can have real ones? Hmm dollars that must be spent at CET and sometimes at a 2:1 value or real dollars that can be spent anywhere? I get it that comps are nice to have but at the risk of being repetitive from every other post on this board, it's not worth it to chase comps. I'd rather win real money and just pay for the stuff. Just my 2 cents.

I would play it if I were staying at the Cromwell or another cet property. But I am not going to seek it out specifically if not. I go to The D for good video poker but it's also because I enjoy the vibe and gambling there.

This is great news, even with the higher Tier Credit threshold. I don't play at the Cromwell extensively but I like the location of the casino as I am going from point A to B or before or after Giadas. These would be great machines through which to run free play if you had it. I have almost 170k Tier Credits so I am seven stars through March 2017 and Wynncore will be my primary home base during my trip in 10 days (!!) and at the end of the year so earning Tier Credits for me is not a big deal. Sometimes for me it is just feels so much nicer to play on a machine that is FP. I know at the end of the day it doesn't make a huge difference but it is nice nevertheless
I like TBD especially in combination with DSTP (yeah, it can be brutal). Playing single line VP is normally too boring for me but TBD less so. The idea of getting 1k for EITHER a royal or aces with a kicker or $500 for four 2s, 3s or 4s with a kicker is extra sweet though I know the volatility sucks. Thanks for passing this on.

Meant to add that the last time I was in Cromwell in August the drink service was very good and the bar/lounge in the back near where I believe these machines are is very nice.

I can confirm that. I looked at during Halloween weekend.
    Shame on NYNY!
