I wanted to buy tickets to Game 6 today, but I didn't want to pull the trigger because there is a tiny, tiny chance that they could play Game 6 on April 30th and we couldn't make it in time.

I'll be there 5/20 - 5/27, if they make another deep run and have a home game while I'm there I may try to go to a game.

I was in Vegas last year for the parade and celebration for the Knights win. It was cool to be there for that, but bittersweet because I am a FL Panthers fan and that's who they beat for the Cup. Hopefully they will meet again this year with the Panthers coming out on top.

I assume Edmonton? Unless VGK lose and LAK win, then Vancouver?

    EDIT: I follow now.

Edmonton unless VGK loss and LAK win....then it would be Dallas.

Jo Koy comedy show just canceled for next Friday at T-Mobile, I assume it’s because they need the arena for Game 4.

i have a love/hate relationship with the Knights. I always figured they'd be my 2nd team because i love Vegas, but they were good right away, and the Sharks were still good at that point.. so they became a bit of a rival... hated their guts. Now they have one of the most endearing sharks players ever on their roster, so i'm kinda rooting for them.

An amazing thing about VGK games is how knowledgeable the crowd was very early on in the team's existence. By contrast, I live in DC, and before Ovechkin showed up the fans needed the PA announcer to tell them when a play was offsides or when icing had occurred. The team had been here for nearly 30 years at the time. VGK fans somehow became very savvy very quickly. Plus, an incredibly fun environment.

Hey, I had partial season Tix in the mid-90s and my seating area was so much fun! Way up high, back out in Landover. Some of us have known hockey for a while

Having been through the insanity last season…even if you’re not a hockey fan and you can get comped/reasonably priced tickets (Mine were neither, but a Stanley Cup Final game is one of those cliche “Once in a lifetime” things), absolutely check a game out, or as a local explained Knight Time to me “Theater kids on a sports budget.”

As for the series, dates and times for the first three games have been announced, all times ET:
Game 1 Monday in Dallas, 9:30 PM
Game 2 Wednesday in Dallas, 9:30 PM
Game 3 April 27th in Vegas, 10:30 PM
Game 4 April 29th in Vegas
Game 5 May 1st in Dallas
Game 6 May 3rd in Vegas
Game 7 May 5th in Dallas

That's an interesting take, but I wonder what time period you are talking about. I had season tickets from the mid-80's until the late 90's and the fans very obviously understood the game. Perhaps when they moved downtown there were some new fans added to the mix. The Capitals team then was often good, but never quite good enough.

I was out of the area when Ovie showed up.

I think the wide mix of folks from all over in Vegas helped spread knowledge of the game more quickly that it will spread in an are like Houston (if a team ever is placed here).

@ronc in my case it was very early 2000s, so I have no reason to doubt your 80s/90s experience.

I think "in the old days" people who went to hockey games loved hockey and knew the sport. As they tried to grow the sport, more televised games etc, you'd get more newbies to the game, so I can see that's understandable. Esp as the game moved south - a lot of southern cities have NHL teams but NO other hockey -no youth or school teams, no club teams or college teams, adult beer leagues etc. Growing up in New England, I was exposed to hockey early (my first game was at a 5th grade birthday party!) I'm glad it took off so quickly in Vegas - winning Stanley Cups early in their existence sure doesn't hurt!
