We recently watched the Taylor Swift Eras Tour concert on Disney Plus. I’m certainly not in her demographic, but I found myself entertained. It’s 3 and a half hours, so we watched over a couple of nights. What I found to be absolutely remarkable was how everyone in SoFi Stadium knew and sang every word to every song with their heart. The crowd shots were amazing. Swift’s ability to connect with her audience is unlike anything I’ve seen in music.
I never played Fallout but am enjoying the series. How do they come up with the crazy plot twists? Saving the last two episodes as the next season is not due until 2026!
My sister reports that The New Look (Apple+), about Coco Chanel and Christian Dior, is excellent. She was shocked to learn that Coco Chanel was a **** collaborator in the 1940's. She's been wearing Chanel perfume for decades.
We just finished "Fool Me Once" on Netflix. A British thriller about family, murder and money. Really well done. 8 episodes. We watched it in 4 days.
We watched El Conde (The Count) and Legally Blonde last weekend. Very strange combo. El Conde was up for Cinematography at the Oscars. It's beautiful, but also it's like a strange version of Fellini film. Very odd, but an enjoyably quirky vampire movie, if you're into that kind of thing. Elle Woods is always light and fun and Dan had never seen it before. We also are well into Season 2 of Ted Lasso and loving it. Also been watching Severance and last night couldn't stop with just one episode to go. That cliffhanger!!! Only to find another cliffhanger and a deep need for news on Severance Season 2. I was so sweaty in the last two episodes. It was such a fun ride, but I am ready for the next season. I think the plan tonight is to reunite with our friends, The Fisher family, as we start Season 3 of Six Feet Under.
Before you reunite, Six Feet Under has a widescreen HD remaster on HBO Max. Including an HD remaster of the title sequence (although the actor's names don't look too HD-like) The widescreen HD remaster looks gorgeous in the first episode, especially the darkly funny commercials for funeral products.
Lincoln Lawyer season 2 was excellent. The one criticism I have is it was like they had too much to tie up in the last episode and just squeezed into the last few minutes.
I've been watching the final season of Star Trek Discovery on Paramount+. I was hoping that it would continue for a few more seasons, since I like the series. Bob Marley's One Love is also on Paramount+ and is pretty good. I've been to Jamaica a few times and I like his music, but the movie is focused more on his life which was interesting. On a side note, Bob Marley Hope Road is a new attraction that's suppose to open at Mandalay Bay later this year, for those interested.
Streamed Argylle on AppleTV+ Very surprised I enjoyed it. Fairly absurd, but kudos for an espionage film, even a comic spin, that's unpredictable. Some truly creative action sequences.
