I'm not sure what the lowest annual fee is, but you basically paid what you could argue - mine was $295 when I had it.
There have been many different sign up deals over the years. My wife and I were members in the early years and had a locked in lifetime rate of $295 yearly and that included a free spouse membership. We would both get Diamond - $200 in dinners, free shows back then, Diamond lounge entry and no resort fees. When CET started taking some of the offerings away the $200 in dinners and no resort fees still made it worth it.
I was able to do a LOT of status matches thanks to that initial Diamond status- so for me it was totally worth it. (I also paid less than $600.) It's likely not worth me keeping though, unless they replace the perk with something amazing.
If you are solely using it for Diamond, it really depends on how many nights a year that you spend in Vegas. The current rate of $495 ends up paying for itself in resort fees after 10 nights. 8 if you factor in the $100 dinner.
at the lower tier casinos Diamond still has some line skipping abilities that are hard to value but still nice to have.
Especially at Bacchanal where it’s always a huge crowd. With diamond, you go straight in without even needing a reservation. Not to mention, the dedicated check in areas when you arrive to the hotel
How sure are we that Diamond status via FoundersCard is completely over for good? Are the two parties still possibly in negotiations for another year, and could that be why existing FoundersCard members are still Diamond past 2/1/24? Or could the reason existing members still have Diamond status be because FoundersCard has possibly negotiated for current members to keep Diamond for another year to help in retaining them as FoundersCard members? Just trying to figure this out.
I pay $295 per year, and even in the worst of times its a wash. My play gets me the usually-easy room comps, but it is really easy for me to benefit more than $300 per year in resort fee and parking fee savings. Just last year I had 3 days in Vegas in February, 3 in New Orleans in April, 3 in Lake Tahoe in May, two at separate properties in Council Bluffs in June, and four individual nights at Harrah's Joliet throughout the year. If the Founders/CET match is really gone for next year, I will have to focus on hitting the multipliers next year. I had about 10K TCs last year with no multipliers, but if I focus on them I'll survive the end of the benefit. And if not, we continue to focus on Boyd.
Same rate for us. $295 included both of us. I now earn Diamond Elite and husband occasionally was earning Diamond himself but I renewed each year anyway since it was a good backup plan and I could deduct the expense from my consulting business. I had been thinking of canceling for the past 2 years but now I have no reason to use the membership anymore I'll cancel before my August renewal.
Requests to redeem diamond that were made before 2/14 are going through, still not sure if they will revoke Diamond if/when FC membership is not renewed. I will find out in March because I am not renewing FC.
I find it highly unlikely that Founders Card will be able to revoke anything. If their contract is finished with Caesars, they no longer have the right or power to demand that Caesars change anyone's membership. If they can't even process any more Diamond upgrades (and it appears they no longer have the ability to do so) then anyone who was already upgraded to Diamond for 2024 should have it through the end of this year.
My brother’s Diamond was cancelled within a month after cancelling his menbership a couple years ago.
Yes, FC used to notify CET of cancellations , who knows what will happen now. Yes, FC no longer has any power to revoke diamond status, but then CET also has no obligation to maintain it.
A few days ago on the Reddit thread that was mentioned earlier (see two separate Reddit posts below), there was some indication that there may still be some negotiations going on between FoundersCard and Caesars. I don't know if it means anything though: "3d ago This is such a mess. Caesars CS informed me twice via email that the partnership still exists and I just need to sign up on FC’s site. 3d ago I called FC and they told me they are renegotiating their contract and possibly trying to work something out to bring it back"
Wife called today to non-renew, rep she spoke to stated that CET will be notified today-so we will see what happens-
I thought wife said CET would be notified. it was just other hotel chains, so fingers crossed that diamond will remain.
so it does not include the celebration dinner? So it is essentially a pass to not pay resort fees? Also it says you can earn tier credits between Feb 2st 2024 up till Jan 31st 2025? It is normally Jan 1st - Dec 31st as an earning period. Do they have a different earning period then people who earn it regularly?
