I guess I wasn't the only one who thought this, as Dreamscape's announced All American is closing down this month to be replaced with an as yet undetermined new restaurant. Farewell, All-American Bar and Grille. I ate there a couple times, and you were certainly the okayest restaurant ever to be in that particular spot on the Rio casino floor.

 

Years ago in the Rio heyday there was a Carnival themed/named 24/7 restaurant in the area toward the convention area across from the pool doors that was excellent. It later became Sao Paulo Restaurant (good but not as good). Would be fabulous if they had that 24/7 full menu type of restaurant in the All American location similar to Palms Serrano Vista or Cosmo’s The Henry.

 

Good riddance to the All American restaurant, so glad to see it go. I ate there once, and whereas I almost always give any bad restaurant a second try before striking it from my dance card, I recall the slices of tomato on my hamburger were green/white with only a hint of orange in one spot. That a kitchen would serve such a thing lets me know about the quality control for the food. You either have a decent red slice of tomato or you 86 them.

 

With a "burger joint" in the food court I wonder what the O/U is on how long smash burger is around

 

Pretty sure that’s the space Hash House A-Go-Go now inhabits, near the Penn and Teller Theater. (?)

Edit @Sgt_Shultz - given the atrocious service and ghost-town customer base of Smash Burger in the Rio I can’t believe it can be very long for this world. I didn’t see a single person ordering there the entire time I was there, and I passed it multiple times per day/night for most of the trip.

 

I remember dining at Sao Paulo (Breanna mentioned), diner-type fare - along that long hallway to the Convention area. I also remember dining at the fabulous Buzio's several times!! Such delicious seafood dishes!!

I'm excited to visit Rio again in a couple weeks.

My only regret about this trip report is not seeing you in action while all of these events unfolded.
