I wouldn't believe it either. How could you possibly prove how much you ran through the machine if you see no change to your account when everything goes back up?

Question: Has Wifi availability within MGM hotels in Vegas been affected?

The only thing that has worked the whole time has been WiFi.

Call me paranoid but I 110% would not connect my devices on to the wifi at this time.

I think (and someone like @ColoVegPlayer can correct me if I'm wrong) that there just aren't that many groups out there with the resources to pull off something of this scale. So the hypothetical second group still wouldn't want to upend the whole business model just for a quick score, not to mention they'd be making themselves a target for some very dangerous people.

Employees of Aria are riding in elevators to act as emergency connection (hand held radios) with hotel as communications are still down. Two employees I spoke to were from finance dept. and one other was from Event planning. They each said that management sent out an SOS to their employees to man these jobs.
This is as of Wednesday, 10:00 PM PST.

Odd that MGM Vegas properties are a complete clusterf***, but here in Detroit there's only the few issues of not being able to using comps for food and needing to check in to the hotel at the desk instead of other ways. The casino itself is pretty much operating normally.

I would guess the Non-Vegas properties operate more independently. I'd assume the slot machines and such are reporting to a server in that casino (or at least in that state) to comply with that state's gaming laws. So getting those back online could have been done independently of the Vegas ones.

Not being able to use comps and such makes sense, because those would be tied back to the main corporate servers, which appear to be on fire.

But hey, as we learn more about what's working and what's not, we can basically crowdsource and figure out how the MGM IT infrastructure is designed, lol.

I recall asking him after his little hacker convention if there was anything that we should be worried about…

I just hope things start getting back to normal sooner rather than later so that we can get back to talking about royals, strippers and tubnuttin'

Right!? On that note, Bavettes was delicious. Golden Tiki was super cool and the cows at Cromwell paid nicely

Not me. I'll be playing at my normal level next week, regardless. The signs clearly say that play will be recorded and posted when the system comes back up. Even if they weren't tracking my action, I'd still play because this is Las Vegas, and I go there to eat, drink and GAMBLE.
