Holy deja vu, Batman... 10X multiplier in Laughlin, 2022 version - 3/10/2022

Well, I passed my "quick" COVID test today, so the trip is 99% clear. I have another COVID test Thursday (mandatory for work).

Pre-trip for 10X in Laughlin.

The deja vu parts comes in since BFF and I attended this two years ago.

Well, I thought that I was "done" with CET, but they came up with the 10X multiplier in Laughlin, the same one that BFF and I attended in 2020 (the weekend before Las Vegas "closed").

I don't know exactly why, but I want to renew Diamond for 2023, and even though I could make it by matching Wyndham Diamond level, my knee surgery is scheduled for early April, and I may not make it back to a CET casino until October and want to keep my $875 in RCs renewed one way or another. (Gee, does it sound like I'm just making excuses to go??)

I have reservations for 3 nights, but I will only be going for 2 nights, as I have to get home to drive my son to work (yeah, long story) early Sunday morning. I have the last flight out Saturday night, but will attempt to take an A-list standby to leave a little earlier.

I'm flying in Thursday after work getting in at about 6PM, picking up a car and driving down to Laughlin that night, I'm having dinner with BFF at the Prime Rib room at Riverside.

Then, for me, it'll probably bedtime early since the 10X promotion doesn't start until 4AM.

So, the (rhetorical) question is:

1) Do I start at 4AM to make 500TC before 6:59AM and then make the 1000 the next day (15,125 TC) and only one swipe, or
2) Start at 7AM and do 1000TC, and 500TC on Saturday? (15,125 TC but needing to stick around or have BFF swipe for me on Saturday), or
3) Wait until 7AM and do the whole 1500 on Friday (15,000)

There is only a 125 point difference between strategies 1 and 2 and strategy 3, but in any case I would have the peace of mind in knowing that I made Diamond when I left. I will miss the 5X promotion because of knee surgery.

So, in addition to Thusday night dinner with BFF, there is
Friday breakfast at The Beach Cafe (Harrah's), or use up my $10 FBC at Riverside and have their otherwise life sustaing breakfast, probably not, because BFF wants to get on the table early.
Lunch TBD with a VMBer
Dinner Friday night at Guy Fieri's Burro Borracho
Breakfast Saturday morning with another VMBer.

Also on tap . . . .
Visiting one (maybe two) FGFs.

My plan was to leave after breakfast on Saturday morning and drive up to Downtown Las Vegas for Silver Strikes in preparation for the St. Patrick's Day $300 Silver Strike distribution, But since I'm now going earlier than originally planned, I should wait and go for the reds/blues.

So, it'll be a whirlwind. If I choose option 1, I plan to "slow roll" after 7AM to eat up the day. Depending on what kind of car I get, I may drive up to Christmas Tree Road (?) a back road in Laughlin.

Any other VMBers that are going to this event and want to meet up, give me a shout out . . . .

 

You forgot the 1k bonus so all you "need" is 1400 earn on Friday
If you start before 6am and keep your card active till after 6 all those points go to day "2"

 

That is true, but there is a 125TC bonus credit for hitting 500TC that day, but if I'm getting severely "beaten up", I might quit at 400.

The promotion day starts at 4AM on Friday, so points between 4AM and 5:59AM count for the 10X promotion, and count as Thursday points, but are one "swipe" under the promotion.

@DaiLun I am looking forward to having breakfast with you Saturday (probably life sustaining type so you can be on your way) as even Riverside has trouble screwing up a breakfast buffet -- but let us confirm later. That said, I want to remind you that Harrah's Laughlin gives a daily $20 food or drink voucher for higher Diamonds and above(not $10 food only like in Vegas or Tahoe), but in my experience the kiosks only spit them out after 8:00 AM. So if you have an early breakfast at the Beach Cafe, go ahead and order when you want but visit the kiosk only after 8:00 AM if you want to use the voucher on checkout.

I’m good for lunch Friday at beach cafe, if others want to join us. I read that Laughlin Tropicana is also having the 10x same as Harrahs. Hopefully not be as crowded as 2 years ago. Also friend told me there is a shuttle between the two casinos

 

Well yes, you could do the Wyndam match. But....you can't win money by a simple match.

Regardless of how you approach this 10X Multiplier, I see no wrong way for you to win.

I could use me a little Laughlin right now. I am hoping to get there in early June on our way back from Sedona/Havasu.

 

I have NOT heard that is true. The original email that I got said that Tropicana is NOT participating in the 10X promo. Maybe they changed it.

Otherwise, BFF and I would have stayed at Tropicana to "change it up"

The boyfriend gets marketing emails from Tropicana (I don't for some reason) and he found this after I showed him this thread. Also on Saturday you can get a pair of sunglasses after earning 150 TC .

Good luck on your trip (and upcoming knee surgery!), I think we're going to brave the Riverside buffet on Thursday night only because it's there lol.

OK, before anyone else asks. Since Tropicana Laughlin has recently been added as a casino for the 10X multiplier. I raised some questions to my host and he just replied back

1)You will only get a total of 50,000 points for this Event for both properties
2)If you plan on playing at Trop, you will need to swipe there as well and they will add the points earned to the main account for Caesars

 

OK, well, I hope I got rid of all my bad luck today.

It was a horrible travel day. The earlier flight was completely full, so I had to sit and play solitaire for 3 hours waiting for my original flight, which was 100% full. The flight attendant noted, we have to take off by 29 minutes past the hour or we'll miss our landing window and have to sit for another hour. Luckily, we made it, and I got to Las Vegas where is was FREEZING. Good thing BFF told me to bring a jacket, otherwise I'd be freezing my butt off!!!

Well, I got into town so late that unless I drove 90 MPH I was going to miss the Prime Rib room. BFF hadn't eaten yet so I told him to eat and I'd eat when I got into town.

I got into town and checked in. Let me tell you, how the mighty have fallen. Two years ago, when I was 7*, I was assigned the south tower, the tower that the elevators drop you off in the main casino. As a lowly Diamond, I was banished to the North Tower, which is out in the hinterlands, and too far away from the parking lot for my liking, so I valeted.

Ate dinner at the Beach Cafe, had the country fried steak dinner. It was life sustaining+.

It's now 10:25, and I'm ready to hit the hay. When I wake up will determine what strategy I implement.
