Why no long trip reports for Resorts World yet?

This is not from someone who actively posts on VMB, but Mike E's review is good:

    https://vegassnob.com/2021/07/21/crockfords/amp/?__twitter_impression=true

I'm not sure why we haven't seen more reviews on here, tbh. I do get the sense that RW's location is working against it even from the standpoint of people having the desire to check it out. Also, people who have either been there or just seen it online complain about it "adding nothing new to the scene."

I've often said that after the wave of 1998-2000, the next resorts were going to have a tough time topping the ones that opened in that era. Circa is different in that it's compared to the smaller, older joints downtown.

Should also mentioned that Tim Dressen did a detailed review that spanned two recent episodes of his podcast at fivehundybymidnight.com

The fact it's not actually 'open' is probably working against it, too.

Think most here at VMB are savvy enough to swerve it, while they sort the teething problems of a rushed opening.

I know Travel Ruby stayed at the hotel for a few days, and I've seen a video of all the food court offerings from Norma Geli that was good.

Why stay there and pay for a room when we can stay at other properties on comps? Not sure how many people on here are comp players with Genting Rewards.

It's the home hotel for the trade show we usually attend - messed up 2020&2021 but it's Vegas in October. So far we haven't decided to attend - and if we do, doubt we'll stay at RW.....

I am wondering about how rooms get comped at Resorts World given the there seems to be several hotels (at differing levels) sharing the same casino. Any one with experience or insight on that?

I've read a few have matched offers through hosts.
The host I met for a tier match seemed a bit snooty.
Saw one review on here from a player that had some type of match offer and it wasn't very complimentary.

I checked RW out, did a match and put some play in a month ago and haven't heard a peep from them. I don't see any reason to return at this point.

Was in there a month ago on a weekend and it was meh. No reason to go all the way down there as they aren't offering any reason to leave mid strip. But they will charge you as if they were the only casino in the state. But I suppose they all do that to whatever degree they can, don't they?

The last “new” casino that I have been to is the Cosmopolitan, and ironically that was for a VMB slot pull in October 2018. Gambling aside, I would be tempted to visit either RW or Circa if they had a restaurant I’d be interested in eating at, or some other attraction, but I see nothing that indicates that would be the case.

I agree with Marky that it'll take a while for it to ramp up, especially once the theater opens, to make a full assessment.

The properties I would tend to be inclined to compare it to are Aria and Cosmo, which are the two standalone properties that opened after the 1998-2000 wave (I consider Encore and Palazzo to be sort of add-ons to their sister properties). Aria and Cosmo for sure have a great center-Strip location, and the standard rooms at both are likely superior than the Hilton standard rooms at RW. But from an overall property perspective, what makes Aria or Cosmo much more superior to RW?

It’s really not all that. Feels more like a conference center than a casino. It’s honestly just big…..

I actually like that vibe. Must be like Aria.

Pretty much everyone here has a relationship with other hotels that give them comped goodies upfront based on past play. Resorts doesn’t seem to be actively matching any of this, so until some time has passed and people start getting those offers, few VMBers are going to be basing trips there.

In fact, I have heard or read next to nothing about their comp criteria from any source. Just being new kid on the block will get tourists through the door, but not big players who will expect something for their trouble.

I called into the hotel just to get some information about playing there. I asked for Asian marketing and agent told me he would transfer me. Someone else picked up and asked who I was looking for. He said he was a manager and he promised to connect me to a host and said I would be talking to....forgot the name but it was a Chinese last name. He tried to transfer me over but the line dropped so I gave up and didn't call back.

Like Aria but slightly larger open space and all white dry-wall. Instead of making an upscale statement, the place makes an unfinished statement. It may be nice in the future but at this time it just screams ‘not ready to open yet!’

This. If it was part of MGM or Eldorado/CET, we'd be swimming in trip reviews by now.

I tried to visit shortly after opening but I couldn’t find a parking lot. I guess drive-ins are not welcome.

Yeah the signage is terrible if you pull in Resorts World Drive or whatever it is. Signs keep saying that there's self parking, but then you've driven through the whole property and there isn't any. Turns out it's on the other side of the hotel off Genting.
