What's good? I like the clam jerky and the short bread cookies shaped into playing cards. Looking to try the bacon jerky, okra chips, and beet chips. Anyone have your favorite snacks there?

Just dried dead cow suits me, spicy or not. Even bacon jerky isn't that good to me and I love bacon.

I don't eat beef jerky, but the cookies sound good. I am the cookie monster.

There are 2 stores downtown. One is in the Plaza on the same floor as the bingo room, I think it's called Las Vegas Jerky's. The other one is right off the Fremont Hotel in the path that goes to the DTG.

Both places are run by people from Hawaii.

The one by Fremont has a lot of different Jerky types. The one at the plaza, their specialty is the shortbread cookies (Karen's cookies) but they have a number of other stuff like dried fruits, beef sticks, etc. I usually go to that one (Plaza one) because I like their shortbread cookies.

The one by Fremont has a huge selection of all sorts of packaged goodies besides jerky. We usually pick up some chocolate and yogurt pretzels there to snack on in our room. I've got no idea what much of the stuff they sell even is. Much of it is Asian specialties. The place is bigger than it looks from the outside and is worth a visit if only to marvel at the massive selection.

I can't remember the flavors or the name of that place either! All I remember was I was looking for something that can't be found back home and the owner lady there sold sirloin steak beef jerky. She claimed it was 100% top sirloin and the prices reflected that, lol!

She was so enthusiastic and proud of her product and she was really pretty also.

Naturally I bought some even though I don't care for beef jerky. :D

I went in here a few years back.
It IS bigger than what you expect from outside.....lots and lots of different items, including Asian specialities.
It also have very limited day shift hours too.
    I liked the wrapped taffy.
There were so many variations of beef jerky, so hard to make an informed choice.
Alas, the one I chose, was not as tasty as my fav, Teriyaki beef jerky at the Cal bridge.

So, this past April, I was back at the Cal store, and picked up another 2 bags.

That's right, I forgot, there are 3 jerky stores downtown. There is one on the second floor promenade area between the Cal and MSS and next to the ice cream shop. It is actually an aloha specialties store, I guess the same people who run the restaurant across the promenade. The one at the Cal is a smaller store than the one at the Plaza or the one next to the Fremont hotel.

Pass up JOJO's jerky at the container park way over priced. I like the store at the Cal.

I bought some teriyaki pork jerky from the Plaza store and OMG it's so good. Will be buying it every trip now.
