34AD2348-EB0F-4F8C-A012-30AF47C4B375.jpeg I was hung over walking to the parking garage at four winds casino in New Buffalo, Michigan after gambling, drinking and spending the night there. A pac man slot machine catches my eye. I’ve never seen it before so I put my backpack down and have a sit. And then the bonus game

Lady Luck has never been on my side. Just the opposite--"missed it by that much," close but no cigar. When betting the horses, I will play a trifecta box. I have two of the horses but my third horse finishes fourth. I don't know how many times that has happened. That is how my luck goes. I doubt that I could even buy some "lady luck". That is why I gave up on gambling. It just was not fun.

When I saw the title of this thread I thought it was about the old Lady Luck casino, which is now the Downtown Grand.

I used to love that place. Great comps for very low green chip betters. Before computers, they had manual rating slips that were filled out by the pit bosses. Found out they rated pai-gow poker the same as blackjack. Easy way to boost your ratings. Flat bet a black chip for an hour or so.

    God I miss Vegas!!!

2 trips back in October I was DRUNK and wandering Fremont between The D, GG, and 4 Queens... Had just got back from Jerrys Nugget and promptly lost about $600 at the GG craps tables and prohibition bar. Had about $300 in my wallet before having to make a dreaded trip to the ATM... Before leaving GG I decided to sit down at a Buffalo machine (the big ones near the F Street entrance) and put in $200, within a few minutes hit a $1185 bonus which was two scores, a HUGE bonus and $15 just shy of a W2G!!

After that Buffalo hit it was UP AND UP, hitting $925 off Freeplay at Golden Nugget, numerous quads at The D Vue Bar, hitting a 2k handpay at Bellagio and putting in seeded play at the Wynn which parlayed to an AWESOME February trip there.

Lady Luck made it great going from $300 left (about -$1200 down total before BUffalo hit) to a great Wynn wynning trip!!!

It was 2014. I had just been diagnosed with cancer. Surgery scheduled so I decided to take a solo trip to Las Vegas to work on gaining a positive attitude to get me through the trauma. I play pai gow and slots. First night, betting $5 on fortune bonus and $1 on progressive bonus. I hit a royal flush for $1250. (150X bet so no tax paperwork which kicks in at 300X on table games.) An hour later, I hit another royal, another $1250. I have gone numerous trips without hitting a royal, but 2 in one session? unheard of. Positive attitude working beautifully.

Next day slot wins kick in: $1015 on buffalo gold, started with $40 and bet $1.20, $1129 on quick hits (8 of them), numerous little wins of $200, $300. I decided to go to my bank which has many branches all over and deposit my original bank roll of $2500 since I now had plenty to continue playing this trip.

That night, playing pai gow, hit another royal flush for $1250. OMG, must be using all my luck this trip. Played even rest of trip money-wise. I had a gold card so room and meals all comped. Last night I won a spin on a wheel that offered cash, free play, and dining options. I won 10 free buffets LOL. I was given 5 cards for 2 meals each that had to be used this trip. Obviously didn't need so I headed down to the long buffet line and handed them out to various people--what fun!
I won enough to pay for everything not covered by medical insurance, plus hotel for family (local hospital couldn't do the type of surgery I needed) plus had enough left to make another trip.

Next trip to Las Vegas 4 months later, I thought this positive attitude worked wonders. Gonna do it again. Lost my whole bank roll, LOL, but had a great time.

Oh, the cancer? Positive attitude worked again. I've had positive checkups since.

I have my craps stories but the ones I enjoy the best are the ones like when I thought I was playing a penny slot machine and it was really a dollar and I was winning. Or the time I won ten bucks on a drawing and placed it in a Wheel of Fortune machine and won $100 with two presses of the button. I always cash out. Or the time I was playing the minimum on an old penny machine (laughing and laughing) and kept winning while the guy next to me was playing the maximum and losing his shirt. All of a sudden he looked over to me in disbelief and asked "are you playing the minimum?" I didn't win much but I killed a lot of time sitting at that machine having a ball.

Me and Lady Luck are like Rodney Dangerfield, I get no respect. I remember playing a 6 spot keno card at the Riv. I nailed five of the six numbers, my sixth number was 12, I needed 13. Instead of getting something like $3K, I got $300. Lady Luck is not my friend.

Just like I'm still waiting for my first RF, I'm waiting for "Lady Luck" to shine one me elsewhere. I can't be the only one who if I didn't have bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all.

When I and Mrs. FAB were relative newlyweds as well as gambling newbies, I was between jobs and did not have much money. Nevertheless, since were were visiting my family in Chicago, for a break the two of us went to the Empress Casino in Joliet, Illinois. I was unlucky playing blackjack and my wife was losing on roulette after losing on blackjack as well. Eventually, at the roulette table she placed her last $25 chip on the line between the 22 and 25. See black circle below.

She thought she was making an outside bet on the lower two-thirds of the layout. The resulting spin led to the ball dropping on a green Zero. Mrs. FAB felt downcast as she understood that she lost -- and did not even hit the 2/3rds of the numbers she wanted to hit. The female dealer swept away the chips on the layout except for her green chip and asked "who bet this?" My wife thought she was being mocked for making a big bet that lost and after the dealer repeated the question, my wife sheepishly said "me." Then the Wife was shocked when a stack of green chips was handed off to her. Wife had no idea that placing a bet at that spot was equivalent to betting on the two green numbers. The dealer needed to explain it to her. Wife then rushed to me and handed me the chips which more than made back our losses.

I'm going to go with it is yet to come,
started mainly focusing on craps, which is where I have the most fun, maybe last three trips,
and started being able to manage (or stumble into someones) 20 min + roll in at least one session each day.
Was trying different betting strategies and going into >$5 min tables.
I better get a practice rig up, I felt like it was because I was playing it more time, more consistently.

also still waiting on first Royal between us.
my better half got her first recent handpay last year, but I know she can do better.

Was in town on a "family" trip for spring break and staying off strip. The 1st morning my wife askes if I want to go to the outlets or drop me off on Fremont for the am. I get dropped at QQQQ and with a limited time to gamble slide a 100 in a $5 DW VP machine. On the 2nd push I;m dealt 4 2's and a ace for 10K. I call my wife and say turn around and bring the kids in for a picture. All before I even ordered a beer.

You will be able to duplicate your practice sessions into the Casino. This takes the mystery out of going all in. You will just know.

...Hit a fire bet at PH for $10K (minus the $2.5K they take off the top for taxes)....took a break (had a few drinks with wife). About 2 hours later, went back to tables to just relax and "play a little". Hit another fire bet for another $10K. PH is home for me, so all the dealers that I see to this day always talk about it when I'm there. That was crazy. The fire bet was good to me over the years. in 2016, hit another $10K at Rio. Interestingly, when I came up to the table that day, the dealers where all in a shit mode and cranky (mid morning)...definitely not the friendliest. Non the less, being a "nice person", I told them to "put the dealers on the fire bet" for $5. Well, boom, about 45 minutes in, another all six on the fire. They were a lot happier and in better spirits after paying themselves out a cool $5K.

We played the last fire bet table in early 2019 (might of been 2018) at MargaritaVille in Flamingo.

Miss the fire bet, nothing brought the tables to more excitement. Play

It was 2012. At the Flamingo. I am a red player on the Roulette wheel. I always bet red. Flash bets as we call them .
$50 to $100 bucks a spin. A long day of drinking with my wife and three other couples. It is about 1AM. I start with $50 on red. My theory has always been three wins and retreat. Alcohol was flowing. I hit 10 straight reds. Did not press my bet. But the last 7 were $100 bets. The last 5 everyone was unloading on black , except me. When it came to the 11 spin. Call it a premonition. When I play inside numbers I always play 31. For my departed moms birthday date. So I still have $100 on red, but I call it out, it it isn’t red it is black 31. I have $100 on the black 31. Of course it hits. $3500 dollars.
The roulette dealer just smiling and laughing her ass off. She colors me up for about $4300 . I give her $100 toke. The next day as bad of hangover I have ever had. But, it was worth it

Was midday day 2 days of a three day trip and down about $650. Decided to play $40 on dollar DW VP and on third hand was dealt garbage, Drew 5 and four of them were Deuces for $1000. Went to high limit room and put $240 in $10 Pinball slot. Got the Pinball bonus with 4 tries. Didn't hit anything big but turned that $240 into $750.
That made a losing trip into a winning one.

At the Mirage in the afternoon. $25 table. Played $25 on the first two hands. Bumped the bet by $25/hand after every win. I lost the $400 hand, which means I won 16-hands in-a-row including blackjacks, double-downs, and splits. Ended up over 4k.

I wish I had increased my bet by a Fibonacci sequence where my succeeding bet is the sum of the last two bets.

My last trip to my local prior to the shutdown was also my last trip prior to my son being born a month later. This was the last go 'round before I was to be changing diapers rather than "change only!".

Ironically the one bet in the house that I absolutely hate wound up netting me a nice win. I hate when pai gow poker has that progressive. Even at $1/play, it gets expensive, it's a huge house edge, it necessitates making change every 15 minutes, and usually leads to an early exit for me and my low-rolling buddies. But you have to play it. In fact, one time years ago I was about to bust my buy-in and decided to stop playing it and missed out on a 4OAK for $75. Yeah I know, $75. I gamble, but I'm not a gambler.

My two buddies and I were on a bit of a pai gow kick ever since I introduced buddy #1 to pai gow a few months prior. His first night he was hitting all sorts of bonus hands, sniping the fortune bonus at the right times, and turned is humble $80 buy-in into $500 in a matter of a few hours. If anything, losing was going to be the most profitable thing that could have happened to him so he could realize his sun-run was a fluke.

We all bought in for $100, but each of us was treading water with our stack. That is, except for buddy #1 who could not win a hand. We watched the progressives tick up penny by penny on our full table, talking about what we would do with each chunk. A royal at $550 - obviously blow it that night, either a few hands at the $25/min blackjack table or a nice dinner for the three of us. 5 aces at $4,000 - that's a trip to Vegas. And of course, the big one, 7-card straight flush for $140,000, which hadn't been hit in over a year, was plenty for paying off the cars, those pesky student loans, tricking out the man cave, and starting a nice college fund for the baby. And also, of course, the nice dinner, the trip to Vegas, and a few other splurges.

Now I like to sweat the cards. When I get my pack of seven cards I dish off the top and bottom into a little 'draw' pile. Like taking my double down card face-down, it just adds another order or suspense to the game. I get my pack, dish off those select two cards, and flip the 2-3-4-5-6 of hearts. Straight flush, that's $100! I show my buddy who seems both excited for me and disgusted at his own luck. I pull the next card, the ace of hearts. Now things get serious. The whole table stops what they're doing to watch me. If this next card is the seven of hearts that jackpot is mine. I reach for the last card, give it a gentle massage against the felt, and whip it face-up to reveal the seven of hearts. $140k coming my way. Saved $39k for taxes, $1,000 to the dealer, and took the rest in a six-figure check with my name on it.
