When I checked just now on Open Table, it still stated that ressies are for the main dining room only, and the patio is first come first served.

    No, because... 20200604_120558.jpg 20200604_121655.jpg 20200604_121804.jpg
It's kind of hard to see but every player will be boxed in on three sides with plexiglass. Plexiglass even around the craps table.

I love the NYNY amenity kit. Very nicely done.

Thank you for the report so far. Lot of great information and pictures.

Unfortunately it looks like what I thought might be the case is turning out to be based on your report, which are stronger protocols, such as the plexiglass dividers, on the strip at bigger properties vs downtown.

Thank you again. This report is fantastic.

I heard they are not cleaning rooms for guests during their stay other than to fulfill requests for towels there is no cleaning. Can you confirm if this is the case?

Made my reservation for Mon Ami, thanks for letting me know it was open. Have my dinner reservations made for while I'm there so I think I'm set.

Just awoke from some much needed rest. I will try to recap the things that happened at NYNY. We will venture out to other places over the next few days.

    1. We arrived via lyft to NYNY at 945AM. I had seen posted in various places that the opening time was going to be 11AM. Well, when we called on June 2 to ask some questions and verify our reservations we were told that NYNY changed the time to open to 10AM. So that is what we went with. Upon arrival the drive up lanes were still blocked off so we were dropped along the road between NYNY and it's parking garage. We then walked over to the front doors with our bags. About 15 people were already there. 10 more people arrived (the same way as us) by the time of 10AM. The doors didn't open at 10. Some employees (cab stand and bellhop personnel) and security were moving about outside and some of the guests that were there before us started to complain about the delay. One of the earlier arrivals DEMANDED to speak to a manager concerning the delayed opening (it was confirmed amongst the crowd that we all had been told opening was going to be 10AM via various sources directly from NYNY phone lines). More people kept trickling up. A manager came out to explain that the opening wasn't until 11AM. That the information put out over the phone was not correct about a 10AM opening. Most of us took it in stride, we'd just wait another hour. No big deal. But a few others were genuinely pissed and let the manager know. I was quite shocked at the display. This manager was trying to reopen after 3 months and the first guests he deals with are chewing him out over a mix up of opening times. Once the angry people realized that they were not going to get their way and enter early (manager said due to regulations 11AM was the earliest they could do) they then asked/told the guy he should bring us some water since it was so hot outside. He obliged them and brought out a cart with cold water and soda for everyone. The whole situation was surreal in that it wasn't that big of a deal. A mixup of time by 1 hour and some people got genuinely angered.

    2. By the time 11AM arrived the drive up lanes had been opened (about 1030) and cabs and rideshare are steadily dropping people and bags off at the front doors. The group of us had ballooned to 150-200 people. There was no organization to the group and it was readily apparent that when the doors opened it was going to take quite a while to get checked in. The early arrivals had formed a line but that was abandoned as more and more arrived and just massed about all of the front doors. Those familiar with NYNY will know that there's a separate bellhop entrance off to the side, that guests can also use. Going through the main entrance you have to maneuver through a bit of the casino before arriving at the front desk, whereas the bellhop entrance is right near the front desk. So, the mob of people are all amassed at the main entrance eagerly waiting to get in. I look over and no one is at the bellhop entrance. The wife quietly went over to one of the security guys and asked if those doors are also available to enter. He smiled and said all doors are available for entry at 11AM. At 1057 (we didn't want to reveal our diabolical plan to soon) we slowly edged our way out of the crowd and over to the bellhop entrance. We were the only ones at those doors. No one even noticed what we did. 11AM hits, the mob starts going through the main entrance, we enter through the bellhop and are standing at the front desk before the rest had even made it halfway from the doors to the front desk.

    3. After checking in there was another snafu in that the elevators didn't work. NYNY has installed room key readers in the elevators now, so it won't move unless you have a room key. Well, it wasn't working and had to be reset. That took about 10 minutes to fix.

I didn't notice any temperature scanners when we entered. I'll double check but I don't think they had any.

Mask usage is higher here than downtown but still not more than about 40%.

The employees are all very happy to see guests.

Half of the slots are turned off. Of the ones that are on some of those aren't working properly. Service needed or the ticket/cash insert isn't working. There was about 10 different slots that I went to that were supposed to be one of the turned on ones that wouldn't work. A slot tech said they were hoping to have all of the slots that are supposed to be on to be working properly soon.

In my opinion, if you are a slot player this set up is not ideal. Half of your favorite slots will be turned off. There are still plenty to play, but I do have some favorites and it is quite a bummer when I see them turned off.

At the Mlife desk we were told that all App rewards will not be available until July 1. That even though you can purchase them through the slot apps they will not be able to be redeemed before July. But, she also said not to cancel them because everything is very fluid right now and that it could change again at any moment. Meaning that an hour later it could be announced that app rewards are available to be redeemed immediately.
