I am booked in at Paris with comps...but now I have comps at Cromwell, so I was considering moving to Cromwell for the last 2 nights of my trip. I've never been inside The Cromwell. Is it any better than Paris and worth the hassle of switching rooms? More importantly, would that area be as safe or safer than Paris? My gut tells me it's probably a bit less safe, but would appreciate input from others, especially those who have been to the strip in recent months.

    Thanks!

@TiffyChick , first off let me start by saying that you can't really compare the Paris and The Cromwell....they are polar opposites. Paris is a large, resort style Casino, and The Cromwell is not. Paris has multiple dining options, and The Cromwell only has Giada and the small deli on the casino floor. The Cromwell is tiny, but in my opinion, it is big on heart and customer service.

The rooms at The Cromwell are very nice and boutiquish (is that a word?), and I favor them over the rooms at Paris (at least the ones I have stayed in).

I would expect The Cromwell to be safe because during pre-covid times when I was there it never experienced the amount of foot traffic from the Strip that the other large casinos typically see.

If you have never tried The Cromwell, you should try it to see if you have a similar experience to mine....I've made friends with alot of the staff after only two visits, and the drink service is always great.

I wonder if there will be a lot of bugs to work out with their service, though, given that I would be staying on their re-opening weekend.

I do like the convenience of the dining options at Paris, so that's a plus for Paris and a ding for The Cromwell. I'm going back in March, so maybe the thing to do is look at The Cromwell and get a feel for it on this trip and maybe book The Cromwell for March.

Lots to consider and I definitely appreciate the input!

I don't believe that you can have back-to-back comp stays with Caesar's properties, so unless you have at least three days between properties, you will have to choose one or the other.

I love the Cromwell casino, but I mainly play table games. I thought about switching from Paris to Cromwell for my stay in a couple of weeks, but unfortunately I don't have comp rooms at Cromwell.

    @rhinoman7 is correct.

@TiffyChick - IMHO, you can't do what you're thinking of doing. Changing properties is considered two different comp offers, and the only way around it would MAYBE get host approval.

Cromwell was becoming my new "home" property before I dropped 7*. You are within walking distance of several dining facilities, so that shouldn't be a limitation.

IMHO, the only "negative is that they took out the coffee machines that were On the 5th and 7th floors (or was that the 6th and 8th?). They would offer 7* members use of a Keurig (at no charge)

For me, the Cromwell would be a hands down choice over Paris.

Did this change recently. Before when I had 5 comp nights on my LV calendar, I could do 3 & 2 nights at different CET hotels, I just had to call the reservation line to do it as the calendar would not allow it.

I really like visiting Cromwell but I think of it as more of a B&B, with a casino attached, than a resort. Still, Giada is an incredible restaurant with one of the very best views of the entire strip. Can't beat Cromwell's location either.

Of the two I prefer Paris, mainly because they have some really nice restaurants as well as bars & lounges. Paris is also in that CET corridor where its really convenient to zip into the casinos and spend a minimum amount of time on the sidewalk on that side of LVB.

    Have a great trip.

This has been added but Cromwell has the best drink service on the floor of all CET properties, at least as far as I'm concerned (PH is up there too). Paris is not bad, mind you, but The Cromwell is a completely different experience. Rarely have I gambled at a place that every 5 minutes, a 1-2$ tip gets my any drink I want (within reason) and a Fiji. Granted, this is pre-covid, but if the service is anywhere tantamount to what it was last year and prior years, you'll have a good time gambling there.

Yes, especially if you've never been inside.
If you play slots the selection is pretty limited at Cromwell.
Paris has Bally's attached by the indoor hallway so it opens up even more gaming/food options when you don't want to be wandering the strip.
I haven't stayed overnight at Cromwell yet as from the room photos I've seen the rooms look dark/small.
P.S. Cromwell will be adult only when it opens. Not sure it matters as I've never seen kids/families wandering through there.

I would say that Paris is a better property for a more "regular" Vegas as experience. As mentioned, Cromwell only has Giada, but it's extremely easy to get somewhere else (it's not like an SLS or a Mandalay Bay where you're more likely to find yourself staying there the whole time. In addition, I've always liked the Paris casino floor better than Cromwell, but that's entirely personal preference.

Cromwell is a much nicer hotel IMO. Standard rooms are small, but so are standard rooms at Paris.

In terms of safety in the covid era, that remains to be seen. The casino is literally open to the outside street. The people hanging out on that street pre covid were—to put it diplomatically—types that did not look like they were Wynn tower suites guests.

I would want to see what the atmosphere was like in the casino before I commit to a stay there in the covid era.

You could walk from the Cromwell to flamingo to linq to harrah’s with not much sidewalk time

I really enjoyed our stay at Cromwell. The rooms are a bit on the small side made worse by a lot of furniture taking up almost all of the floor space. I did enjoy the coffee machines on certain floors but I hear that shipped has sailed. If you are sharing the room just know the mirror in the shower is see thru from the room at certain light levels. The service on our stay was top notch and would stay there again I a heartbeat.

Thanks so much everyone for chiming in. I think it's wisest for me to just check out on my trip and decide if I want to stay there in March. I do love the location and the restaurant selection at Paris, and I've stayed there before. Probably best to stick with what I know during Covid while the strip is so different anyway.

I really appreciate everyone's input! :blowkiss:

Cromwell is so close to the flamingo that it is basically just the nice wing of the flamingo resort.
I can only speak to the pre-covid cromwell but it had the best table game rules on the strip, some of the best Video Poker payouts on the strip, the best cocktail service (in terms of speed, friendliness and eye candy), and arguably the best location possible.

It lacks in terms of size both casino and rooms. (Base rooms are only 360 sqft.). While the non casino options are limited in the cromwel, as I said it is soo close to the flamingo resort that they might as well be considered one resort.

With the talk about Eldorado selling off a strip casino (this is not a rumor but confirmed that they have plans to sell a strip casino) I would recommend giving it a try sooner rather then later
Both Planet Hollywood and Cromwell have been speculated multiple times that one of them would be the strip casino being sold. but that part is rumor as Caesars/Eldorado have only confirmed they have/had plans to sell a strip casino but have never actually said what casino they are thinking of.

I have never had a rude dealer at a table game at the Cromwell. Really, everyone working there has been awesome

@greekjim not sure if you remember, but last year we both had a ton of drinks in the 1.5 hours we lasted at Cromwell blackjack tables. I lost, but I will say I had plenty to drink haha

I will definitely be safe. Won't be walking around the strip unescorted after dark. As far as costume pics, I will try to capture as many good ones as I can. I think it's going to be a very, very busy weekend what with the Cromwell having just reopened and the Circa grand-opening. I definitely wasn't thinking about all that when I booked my trip, but it's just the way it goes and I can't reschedule, so...:rolleyes2:
