Guy trying to make it playing poker in Vegas

Long time lurker.

I've been getting super hyped for my trip to Vegas in August. I mostly play low limit poker and have been looking for anything to scratch the itch until I get there. I stumbled across a vlog of a guy that moved from the east coast to Vegas to try to make it playing poker. He has his ups and his downs, but his attitude and humor makes for great watching. He has some great shots of the strip and some not so great shots of living just outside of downtown. Just thought I would share. Hope you all enjoy.

I started watching these videos in January or Feb after seeing a thread on 2+2. At first I thought this guy was a tool, but watched a few of his videos and am now a pretty big fan. I look forward to when his new videos come out, which is about two a week. Funny guy and I hope to be able to sit at his table next time i'm there in Sept.

I also follow the Trooper and I don't play much poker. Dude is honest. I know exactly where he lives too. Ghetto.

Wouldn't it be better to try to make it somewhere other than Vegas. I would think Vegas has less saps to take money from than other places, like Los Angeles.

 

His videos have some great Vegas footage. He's gotten pretty creative with the camera shots and editing.

I've never played in LA but I can tell you the games in Vegas can be very soft. Not so much the downtown games but if you can catch the poker room at Mandalay during a convention you will see what I mean. I have zero experience with higher limit games.

 

Ha. Yeah, I like the fact that he is open and honest. Not everyone will like his take and personality, but it seems real which is a big selling point for me. And all the Vegas scenery is nice too!

 

Check out his latest Vlog. I'm a huge fan. Unfortunately he's gone broke again and is working on a backup plan. I'm pulling for him but short of getting a job I don't know how he's going to keep it up!

 

Did no one notice that Gator5220 responded as if that poster was Trooper?

That user posts a lot in the poker room section on VMB and seems to troll 2+2 from references to 2+2 on this forum.

Could it be one and the same person?

You ever have someone sitting at your table and you and your friends have a conversation about that person like they're not even there?

This whole thread is kinda like that.

 

I'm not the Tropper lol. I play craps and blackjack and don't like Starbucks coffee.

As for the "Whaadup", I just like his catch phrase.

 

Maybe I'll send him this thread on twitter so he can give us a classic IT'S THE TROOPER!
