First, I’ll preface this by saying I’m a black chip player that likes full craps tablets. Second, When I step up to an empty craps table and request my marker, I ask that they keep the limits at whatever they were when I step up which is usually $10-$25. I want it this way until it’s full.

I’m heading to Cosmo next week and all I hear is the $25/$50/$100 limits On weekends at strip casinos. Are they really filling full games routinely at green chip and above levels?

Finally, can I still smoke my wonderful cigars when playing craps?

    TIA.

So I did not play at Cosmo while there the past 2 trips, but when I stopped by to see if they had a playable table, they had 3 25 tables and a 50.00 min table open most of the time. There was 1-2 people playing that lasted over 10 minutes. I saw a lot of people coming up and buying in for 100 or 200. Playing the field for 25 or 50 a pop. Or playing a couple hard ways and just the pass line so they could throw And busting out quickly. I asked both times if they could lower a table to 15.00 since they had 1 or 2 people total playing with 4 tables open. I was told no. This was sunday and monday though mid day. Ive heard weekends are busy in the casino. Dont know about the dice tables

I can speak to Wynn last month. At $25 or less, the tables were full. At the $50 and $100 tables, i saw one of them full once. They always had players from Friday afternoon through Saturday night (and were empty Friday morning), but usually only a couple players total. So if you head to the north end and want a full six players at the table, look for the green chip minimums

Can't speak from personal experience as my last trip was to DT, but in planning my coming trip I talked to a good buddy of mine (and fellow craps fanatic) who just returned from a 4 day trip to the Venetian. He made the same observation as UKFanatic at V/P and Wynncore - that being $25 were packed, and the $50/$100 were often empty to half-full, but the minimums would not be reduced. He also confirmed the extremely strange phenomenon that has been reported here that all of Harrah's tables were $25, and were often full with waiting players.

This may not be Vegas related but last Friday at MGM National Harbor, as of 11am there were 4 tables: 3 $75 and 1 $100 table - all of them full!!! I'm not poor but if they want to set the limits that high, I gotta find a new hobby. This is just ridiculous..

I've heard this was fairly normal pre-COVID.

I often wonder where these folks get the bankroll to play at these limits. Wowzer.

My post-Covid experience has been that the lull in tables is really only in the mornings and early afternoons. As far as the table minimums are concerned, I saw mostly $25 minimums at night at the higher end properties.

I don't believe that you are allowed to smoke at any table games due to the fact that the mask stays off for extended periods of time while smoking. However, I don't know if they are enforcing that rule, but I did not see anyone smoking at any table games while I was there.

The tables are generally pretty full. On craps, I saw a $10 at Wynn a few weeks ago, Aria is generally $15 or $25 (which I hate because the math trips me up) and they're always full.

Tables have generally been reluctant to allow cigars; I always would ask the dealers if it was okay back when I had the occasional cigar. They bother both the dealer and most other players (I'm fine with it, many are not).
Aria is enforcing it for sure. I saw a blowup between a guy and security when he was told he had to put his mask back on, and that wasn't even at a table.

I was thinking the same thing re: Cigars. I didn't say anything because its been so long since its been an issue for me, and I don't have any recent l first-hand knowledge, but I haven't seen a craps table allow a cigar in years. About 3 years ago when I was staying at Venetian there was a bit of a blowup between someone who considered himself a "High Roller" (and let the whole table know it) and a pitboss when the player was told he couldn't smoke a cigar at the craps table. And on my Feb (pre Covid) trip the DTG table was cigar-free (they asked a bachelor party to smoke cigars away from the table).

Personally a cigar doesn't bother me either, but I can't remember the last time someone has smoked one at a craps table that I'm aware of.

@FuzzyDiceCraps I smoke cigars all the time at the Mirage Craps table, which is why I was curious.

Good deal. I haven't played at the Mirage in a long time - really enjoyed it last time I did. If I make it over there on my coming trip (unlikely, but you never know what happens when the alcohol flows) I'll be sure to see if they are allowing it with the current restrictions.

I’m at Cosmo this weekend and if I can’t smoke at the craps table there I’ll take a stroll down to Mirage as I have front money on deposit there too.

It was so weird to see Harrah's and Flamingo at $25 and full most of the time. I was there from late August and a week into Sept and Ballys was the only CET property I could afford to play at.

I am really amazed that there are so many people playing at these higher levels? Are they still just buying in for a few hundred and hoping for the best? I am not comfortable playing my normal black chip game without at least a $2k buyin and even at that, I can go out quickly. I won’t even think of playing $25 craps with anything less than $500.

I didn't stick around. I was just walking through and reporting minimums to users on this board and Reddit. To be fair, one day there was a $100 at Flamingo and had a single player on it. I'll guess it was reserved for a high level player.

When we were on the strip, I played at the $10 table at Bally's. The Bally's table was usually busy and had a line. Their $25 table never had more than 2 people on the table.

Off the strip, I played $5 tables at Binions, South Point, Cannery and $3 at Jerry's Nugget. I buy in for $120 at a $5 table.

Can't speak to Strip, but downtown seems to be enforcing "no smoking within 6 feet of the table" rules..
I usually manage by finding an ashtray, putting it on an empty slot, and either taking a break for a smoke,
or doing a puff, exhale, mask, run jig back and forth to collect/make bets.. It'll get you winded, lol.

Sometimes later at night rules seem to relax, ashtray can be in the bottom rack, and I politely take a few steps back to puff, exhale upwards, so as not to offend anyone, remask, and step back..

also this is with cigarettes, not cigars..

tldr: sounds unlikely, unless maybe you get a private table.

I have no issue playing a $25 BJ game (as I normally do play them), but I have a serious issue with a $25 BJ game being 6:5, even for Las Vegas that's complete bullshit and nobody should be playing that but alas, it appears that is indeed the case.

I don't know how they do it either. I've watched a few craps games on Youtube just for fun - kind of a tradition of mine as a trip approaches. You fellow degens know the ones I'm talking about: someone sneaks in a camera housed in their hat or glasses or something and then you get seasick watching the jerky footage. In those I've seen a lot of guys buy in to $25 tables with $100 just to shoot with only a PL bet or throw down bets on field until the money is gone. So I imagine there's a lot of that going on. This was the case my last trip (August) to DT where table minimums were higher (for DT) than normal. I played at a $15 table at the D a couple times or a $10 table at other properties and countless times guys would throw a crumpled up $20 or a handful of $5's on the table and bet a handful of times and be gone. This has been echoed by others in TRs as well.

I agree with you 100% wubears, I want a lot more money backing me up when I buy-in, but then again I just rolling throwing dice in Vegas and I can count on one hand the number of times I've done a hit-and-run in Vegas. I'm almost always there for the entertainment and to kill time and lots of drinks at the table. $500 is a pretty average buyin for me at a $10 table (I'm normally somewhere between $300 and $1000). If I'm playing at a $25 table I'd want at least $1000, but like you I could be gone in 5-6 shooters if the table isn't at least rolling some #s - and I'm not playing with black chips. I'm rated in the $150-$250 a roll range, but I'm normally playing well over 6 hours a day. So I need my buy-ins to last a while.

Was at Aria and Cosmo in Sept and those were the daily limits and yes the tables were full.
It wasn't like only 1 or 2 tables were opened, they had between 4-6 tables opened at those limits and full.
