Tropicana Reopening Laugh Factory, Likely to be Trop's Only Show well into 2021:
    https://www.reviewjournal.com/entertainment/entertainment-columns/kats/dice-clay-rich-little-booked-as-laugh-factory-at-the-trop-returns-2156381/

The Trop returns to funny business (har) Nov. 5, with the return of the Laugh Factory on the hotel’s mezzanine level.

Club operator and headlining comic Harry Basil says veteran stand-up and Vegas resident Bob Zany will head the 8:30 and 10:30 p.m. shows as the club returns to action. Its dates are Thursdays through Sundays. Impressionist legend Rich Little and magician Murray Sawchuck will open on dates to be determined in November.

Little is moving to 6:30 p.m., from 7 p.m., to allow time to sanitize the room before the comedy lineup. Sawchuck keeps his 4 p.m. slot. Zany is joined by Brian McKim and Traci Skene on opening weekend. Headliner Butch Bradley is with Rick D’Elia and Roberto Rodriquez on Nov. 12-15.

Star actor and comic Andrew Dice Clay, who fills the room consistently, performs Nov. 27-29.

The Laugh Factory is likely to carry the entire live entertainment load at the Trop into 2021. There is no plan to return “Legends in Concert” or the Prince tribute act Purple Reign to the Tropicana Theater this year.

I'm going by myself to Vegas in December. In order for me to see Fantasy I have to buy two tickets. I wonder why that is.

There seem to be quite a few shows not booking single tickets at this point. I'm assuming it has something to do with their distancing protocols and how they've set up seating. I'd wait a little bit and see what happens when the shows are open.

Tours are doing something similar. Some tours from Vegas are requiring people (even if alone) to buy two+ tickets. I've seen one tour require FIVE tickets. I was lucky to find three tours that allow people to buy one ticket.

It's Masks Up, Tops Down as X Country Returns

    https://www.reviewjournal.com/entertainment/entertainment-columns/kats/its-masks-up-tops-down-as-strip-show-x-country-returns-2159692/amp/

John Bizarre peered into the darkness, beyond the 25-foot “Entertainment Moat,” in the general direction of an audience.

“I know people are out there,” the veteran comic said, shading his eyes from the stage lights. “I see all these people in masks. It’s like working in a hospital.”

“It was a great start, a sold-out audience that was receptive,” Angela Stabile said. “We are glad and grateful Caesars chose us to be the first to open. It’s a great first step.” Matt Stabile tossed out the show’s unofficial pandemic reopening message, “Masks up, tops down.”

It took some work to get there. The Harrah’s venue is usually the “X Country” home saloon, but the room was set up with a new, socially distant seating pattern. The distance between the stage and first row of seats was wide enough to drive the show’s old Ford pickup truck through.

The dancers wore clear-plastic masks decorated with rhinestones, which were pulled off (along with their tops) for solo numbers. Though part of the stage costumes, the masks were also CDC-approved before the dancers even worked with them.

“It was harder at first, with the masks, and we had a a couple of rehearsals with them just to learn to breathe in them without suffocating,” cast member Shelby Jordan said. “But as soon as I was onstage I forgot I was wearing it. When we were dancing, it was like we had no PPE at all.”

The dancers have been permitted to perform numbers close to one another, not six feet apart, and such signature numbers as the two-woman bed scene is intact. Except, you know, for the masks.

Caesars Entertainment, trumpeting the fact that it is the first Strip resort company to return ticketed production shows to the stage during pandemic reopening. “Absinthe” returns for the company at Caesars Palace on Tuesday, Piff the Magic Dragon reopens at Flamingo Showroom on Wednesday and Tape Face is back at Harrah’s Showroom on Nov. 11.

MJ Live Returns to The STRAT Nov 4th:
    https://www.reviewjournal.com/entertainment/entertainment-columns/kats/without-mask-but-with-glove-michael-jackson-is-back-2160133/

You might remember the days when Michael Jackson visited Las Vegas while wearing a face mask. He was ahead of the game, as it turns out, as The Strat is firing up the Jacko tribute “MJ Live” for a masked audience Nov. 4.

Rotating Jackson tribute artists Jalles Franca and Santana Jackson are not masked per pandemic directives, as they are singers and the show is set 25 feet from the audience. But the artists will wear the sequined glove, moonwalk and resurrect such classics as “Bad,” “Billie Jean,” “Thriller” and “Beat It.” The production also returns to Jackson 5’s heyday with “I’ll Be There,” “I Want You Back” and “ABC.”

The show is co-produced by Darin Feinstein of Red Mercury Entertainment and Dick Feeney Productions. Feeney’s company also presents “The Rat Pack Is Back” at Tuscany Suites, expected to return to a second-floor ballroom venue Nov. 12.

“MJ Live” plays 7 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays. Tickets start at $57.50 (not including fees) and available at The Strat box office, ticketmaster.com or ticketbat.com.

Can I get clarification? There is a limit to seating (250?) I read for these shows as dictated by the Governor’s office. How is the circa sports book not limited to 250 with spacing? Although not a show it is similar theatre type seating. Not trying to cause issues but there were well over 300 sitting / standing patrons for Sunday afternoon football (November 8) with little social distancing and some mask noncompliance. Is it because the “show” is not live but video?(televised).
OR just an aberration? Thanks @Sonya

I tried to perhaps procure some tickets to absinthe last week for November or December, and both Caesars and Spiegelworld sites routed me through ticket master, who will only sell blocks of 4 or 5, and they're a little spendy per ticket. I'm sure theres another way to get tickets, but all internet routes I could find gave only 4 or 5 quantity as options. Makes two sound great!

Because it isn't a showroom? In the casinos the limit seems to be 50% of capacity, but I'm not sure how "capacity" is defined.

Capacity is defined by the maximum people allowed in accordance with the fire code limit for that building / room. The fire department defines this when the building is built. The number of exists is one of the key factors in deciding this. So places like sports books which are fairly 'open' with large exits usually have a high capacity.

Thanks Sonya. I wasn’t sure it was limited to showrooms or gatherings. I had seen earlier comments on conventions limited in size defeated the purpose and were delayed or cancelled. Thanks again.

I really hope Harrah's doesn't miss this opportunity to sell face masks that look like giant pieces of duct tape. I LOVE Tape Face!
