Awesome as always! Just the report I needed to read through these insane quarantine days. I loved your take on Slots of Fun. When I read "roaches" I was like that's EXACTLY what that place feels like. Also, Mystere is my favorite Cirque show and I didn't know they had a female baby. Guess I gotta keep going so I can see that!

So out of all the hotels, would you return to any of them?

    Thanks for the kind words!

The female baby was the same woman that does the nonstop back flips. I am guessing regular baby was off for Christmas maybe?

I would stay at Fremont again, forever and ever. I am booked there four times for the remainder of the year (dates all depending on how Covid goes)

I would stay at Paris, if I had to. Which sounds crazy but as it turns out - for my next trip I am trying to book Flamingo. I keep getting an error message. But it let me book Paris so Paris it is? Wah poor me, I have to stay at Paris!

Definitely not opposed to Linq as a hotel. But I would prefer Flamingo.

Apache is a no, non smoking.

The D suddenly hates me. I would love to stay there again, but they moved my offers to Golden Gate.

Downtown Grand is a no. Unless they add significant slot play to my offers, which I do not expect them to do.

    Park MGM, never again.

Encore, probably not unless it was free. Even then though, probably not. I had such bad luck there and not just in the casino.

Treasure Island - If I go for a long trip in December, I will stay here again and go in with high hopes. But if I am bled dry again, it will be the last time.

What a great trip report this was!! I loved reading every word of it. I visited Vegas just as it reopened in June, so everything was clean, and I was the first person checking into my room after it was cleaned, so it was real nice. I am booked again in September at Planet Hollywood. Just wondering though, with the virus still going pretty strong, do you have any hesitation staying at a hotel like the Fremont? Do you trust the rooms to be properly cleaned, or the sheets? Maybe I'm wrong here, since you're Diamond with Caesars, maybe a better hotel will probably have a safer environment? Just a thought, it's just we are living in crazy times, and every time I visit Fremont Street, it does not give me a very "clean" feeling.:)

    Thanks for the kind words!

I have no idea at all what I am doing about rooms. I did cancel my Cosmo room because I hated THE video we have all seen.

Someone posted on here that they checked into California on night one of reopening and got a room that had not been made up. Turned out employees had been sleeping there. Oh okay, so.....you aren't making sure the rooms are made up, and I should trust you with BOYD CLEAN? But to be honest, I am thinking about more than just the room. I am thinking about short walks between casinos and the ease of grab and go food. Fremont seems like a great place for that.

I have nights booked at Flamingo and Luxor. I have an offer from Downtown Grand that I have considered because that place is always so empty that I might get a room that no one has slept in during all of 2020.

Really wish Wynn would send me anything. They seem to be the best at making people feel safe. Sigh.

I just spent an hour reading your trip report from December. Thank you for sharing. I loved your sense of humor. You must drink a lot of ice coffee. No judgement because I too drink a ton of bubble tea. May I ask have you started mapping out your August trip?

I love bubble tea!!! My company offers catered lunch every day, or you can opt instead, to get $15 to spend on Grub Hub per day. On the last day we were in the office before we closed for Coronavirus, there were only four of us there out of dozens. We used everyone's Grub Hub accounts and got so much bubble tea. I brought a bunch home with me. That was great.

I drink so much iced coffee in Vegas.

My August trip has changed so much since I originally planned it. It was going to be a long weekend. Then a full week. Then I had flight issues, as my nonstop flight was cancelled and I was moved to a flight with a 38 minute layover. So I ended up rebooking that to another date, a week earlier. My current plans look like this:

Arrive July 25 for one night at Golden Gate

    Fly to Reno next morning

Work remote from Reno through Wednesday. I thought this would be a nice break from my apartment. I don't want to work remote from Vegas. I don't think I would mind working remote from Reno.

    Back to Vegas.

    Three nights at Fremont.

    Four nights at Flamingo.

One night at Luxor - so I can collect all the MLife birthday free play + MyKonami free plays, and have a room in the area in case I want to take off the damn mask for a bit. It is a fair trade off as I also get $40 free play + $50 dining with my offer. Making this a win for a one nighter, because I only have to pay one night's resort fee for $90 in free stuff.

Back to Fremont for another three nights.

I still have no idea if I am going. I have a second trip planned for November, no idea if I am going. I booked a flight for December too because JetBlue had $49 fares out of Newark. No idea what the world will look like in December.

    Sigh.

Thanks for sharing your report. Lets hope your itinerary doesn't change. I've never stayed in downtown Las Vegas before. I'm not sure why but I sense I'm just comfortable staying along the strip. During this time I usually travel around the world but since a US passport means nothing right now I'm currently on lockdown. I do have an itch to go back to Vegas in August before work resumes in the Fall but I dread the Vegas dry heat. I've been checking flights and there are r/t tickets via Frontier for less than $100 but since they're not blocking middle seats it's a no go for me. However if I do travel I'm leaning towards JetBlue or Delta. I hate that most flights fly in/out of Newark. It's adding another $30 for transportation. I was going there in November to run the half marathon along the strip at night but Rock n' Roll cancelled the race.

Every time I go to Vegas I venture to the Kung Fu bubble tea store located in the Fashion Show mall. Sit outside with your tea and people watch.

The US passport is killing me right now. I wasn't planning on going to Vegas at all this year. But I cannot get out of America anytime soon and I need to get out of my apartment. I had to cancel all my planned trips for this year. Mexico, Peru and Bolivia. I am currently working remote so I looked into going to so many places in America and it is so insane how expensive it is to travel here compared to other countries. Especially without having a drivers license and needing to make sure I can get food.

My birthday is during this trip and years ago I gave up on ever spending it in Vegas again because I cannot with the heat. I am absolutely positive I will hate my decision when I am there. The very last time I did Vegas in August, I was waiting to cross the street to Treasure Island and my legs were being burned by my pants blowing in the wind. Once I got inside, I lost so much money waiting to cool down. It is not at all fun.

I think I will be mostly okay when downtown because of the canopy, and during my Luxor stay, because I can move around without going outside. But that Flamingo stay may kill me. I also may be overly optimistic with thinking I will be okay when downtown.

Newark is the worst for me. I live in Bensonhurst, so an Uber is always just over $100. Leaving from work is kind of okay since I can just take NJ Transit. But will I be back in the office in December? Doesn't seem so at this point.

Thanks for the intel on Kung Fu bubble tea! I am getting on the subway tomorrow for the first time in four months, to get my hair done in Chinatown. I am going to bubble tea it the fuck up before and after my appointment.

@nancyf It is so delicious as just regular tea.

Flavored is good too. When I get flavored, I go with different bubbles. Some places also offer things like melon stars, which are exactly what it sounds like. Tiniest stars cut from melon. I also like the flavored popping balls. You pop the ball in your mouth and the liquid flavor is inside.

I cannot wait to get some tomorrow.

I live right around the corner from a Kung Fu Tea. Don't get there as often as I'd like. Bubble tea is delightful.

It all depends....I usually go for a Green Milk Tea but if it's really hot, I switch it up to a Honey Lemonade or Strawberry Lemonade. The oreo slush is pretty good for a first timer or just the regular milk tea. My only tip is to customize how much sugar you want to have in your bubble tea.

I live in Clinton Hill so I prefer JFK. Door to door it'll only take me 60 minutes by train. I usually run to Chinatown across the Manhattan bridge so I know all the Kung Fu stores in Chinatown that's open tomorrow (the one on Hester St near MS 131, a school and on Centre Street right off from Canal Street subway stop from the J/Z exit platform) =)

I wish a person without a mask would sit next to me at every point I should cash out. Except not really.

Jennifer, I have LOVED reading your trip reports since you used to post them on LVA. You are the BEST!!! These trip reports just wouldn't be the same without all the cursing and iced coffee! I didn't read all the comments people left so somebody might have mentioned already, but you can use reward credits at Mon Ami Gabi. You just have to go to the Total Rewards desk first and get a voucher for the amount you want to spend. I finally ate there on the patio my last trip and it was sooo wonderful. Happy Travels to you!
