    Hi team,

I'm looking at checking out on a Monday with my flight not until 11pm, so I have essentially the whole day in Vegas.

I'm staying at the Venetian and want to use the $20 trick (well, $40 these days I guess), and just wondering if you think there's any chance of getting a late checkout as late as 8pm, or if I'm better off just adding an extra night and tipping for a better view / upgrade?

    Thanks!

I don't think a check-in clerk can give you much more than an hour or two extra late checkout. You would have to use a host to get anything as late as 3:00 or 4:00 PM free. I never saw a free late checkout after that and certainly not 8:00 PM. If you really want such a late checkout, I would book an extra night. I make this suggestion particularly since Monday nights are a lot cheaper than weekends.

yea, there's no such thing as a "8pm checkout" ... it's an additional night for the hotel
if you don't absolutely need the room for 4 to 8 extra hours, just request a late check-out on the day of and use the luggage check

...or store your luggage at the bell desk and spend a few hours at the spa (closes at 8)!

4pm is always the very latest before they have to turn over a room. Just store luggage at bell hop and carry valuables with you.

As everyone has said, you definitely cannot get a checkout after 4 pm. The clerk can give you 1 or 2 pm with a tip, the host might do 4 pm for a good player. Above that, I say pay for Monday or exit the room around 1, leave your luggage at the bellhop and spend the day in the casino and restaurants.

I get not wanting to "waste" whatever its going to cost you on an extra night considering you only really need it til 8PM-9PM---on a comp its a no brainer...if its $100s+, Id just ask for a non-check out, drop the bags, and be on your way.

    Thanks everyone!

All things considered I’ll probably just get it for the extra night. I’m not on a comp but getting one isn’t out the realm of possibilities (i play $100-$300 per hand BJ, but maybe only for 3 hrs a day.

As others have said, we always leave our bags at the bellhop and give them a tip and we’ve never had an issue. Our flight isn’t until after 6PM on our departure so we’re in close to the same boat that you are. I usually travel with a backpack and put anything truly valuable in that and carry that with me on the last day just to be super safe.

The question you have to ask yourself.....

    WHICH IS CHEAPER?

$200 for room, or dropping thousands gambling while you are homeless? LOL

Side note - if you do decide to not spend the night, this is one of those times having a car might be helpful. It gives you a place to put your stuff and gets you to the airport. And maybe go do something around town or downtown.

If not renting otherwise, get one for just the day at the hotel.

If I'm leaving any later than 3pm, I use the book an extra night trick, and I don't have to rush/worry, lol.

I'm on holiday, and the less surprises I have, the better.

    Agree with all prior advice

One alternative... rent a car at Palazzo Hertz. Stow luggage in car. Easier access than Bell stand.

It's $30+ in airport transport. Tips to stow luggage and retrieve. How much more is a car for one day?

Instead of needing to stay near V/P and stored luggage, you can go anywhere all day and evening, etc.
