Anyone have any info on whether The D, Golden Gate and El Cortez will continue to offer the boarding pass promotions in 2022 ? Are there any other Vegas area casinos that offer a boarding pass promotion ?

PS. Bonus Question - Who remembers the boarding pass promotion offered at Vacation Village ?

I definitely remember the boarding pass promotion at Vacation Village! I had a memorable time about 20 - 25 years ago

For those that don’t remember, Vacation Village was a dump of a casino hotel close to the airport on LV blvd. They had an ongoing promotion if you got there within a couple of hours of landing, you could spin a wheel where a couple of places were marked that you could get the price of your airfare refunded to you. Everyone also got a sheet of coupons for bonus payouts on blackjack, craps, and other games. It was a dump, but when it came to something being given away free, I was all over it. My wife and I were $5 a hand blackjack players back then, so we stayed in a lot of ‘clean’ dumps……Wild Wild West, and the Gold Spike included. On one trip to Vegas, my wife and I took different flights because we only had enough frequent flyer miles for one flight. So, I was getting there first so my plan was to go get our rental car, stop at Vacation Village to spin the wheel, then head back to the airport to pick up my wife. Well, I got to Vacation Village, and they had to verify that my flight had arrived within the two hour window. Then I went up and spun the wheel. If you ever watch Wheel of Fortune on TV, you can watch the wheel spinning and can kind of guess where it is going to stop. Well, I’m watching the wheel spinning and spinning……and when it starts to slow down I can see one of the specialty marked places on the wheel is looking like it might be close! I’m watching and watching……..I think it might be short by one spot!! No, no! But it keeps going and stops right in my spot!! I’m hollering “Yes!! Free airfare!! Free airfare!! I’m euphoric!! “My biggest win in Vegas” the the little girl dealer lightly spoke and said…….”No sir, you won two nights free at the hotel” “Arggggggggg” I felt like Lucy had just pulled the football away right when I started to kick it! I had failed to notice that besides the two specially marked spots on the wheel that gave you your airfare back, there were also two specialty marked spots for a free hotel stay.

So……yes, I do have some fond memories of Vacation Village. First place we went whenever we went to Vegas. As a matter of fact, it is such a treasured memory of mine, that my hundred piece or so chip collection display, A Vacation Village chip is the one I put in the number one spot!

And yes. I did use those two nights on a future trip!

I too did the Vacation Village spin years ago with two friends. I recall that the employee needed to start the spinning and I could only augment the spinning myself. Wonder if that was to prevent skilled spinners. We didn’t get anything memorable.

    Cheap hotdogs at VV though

@Zeke C i heard the D again offers a $25 match play when you mention the “Ricard Wilks” promo at the club booth

For a long time, every trip, my buddy and I would stop at VV for a dog and a beer. We tried the promo once and got 241 buffet coups or something worthless. It was a dump, but every trip went bags, car, VV!

I would be interested in any D promos as we will be staying there for the first time during our annual trip to LV.

Back to the OP's question. Can't tell you firsthand about GG or D, but can tell you the following:

    - El Cortez offers a promo if you show a boarding pass within 24 hours of landing: https://elcortezhotelcasino.com/offers/boarding-pass-offer/

    - I used this promo in June and received what the promo still offers: $25 match play, coupon for a drink at any El Cortez bar and a free spin for its kiosk game, where you can win $10-$1,000 in free play (I only got the $10 FP ... boo!)

    - Tried to use this promo on a return trip last month ... was denied by the boothling. You need to show an El Cortez players card; when he looked up my account, was told the promo can only be used once per calendar year. Boo again!!!

    Good luck!

Not sure about 2022, but two weeks ago, we got $50 MP each for our SW boarding passes, and $25 MP each for the "Richard Wilk" promo at The D. We got the same back in May as well.

Is the casino down town that used to do the $100 southwest boarding pass free play still doing it? Was it El Cortez?

The D will give you $50 match play upon showing them your Southwest boarding pass. You get an extra $25 match play if you mention Richard Wilk. That was last month. I don't know about freeplay.

For El Cortez it was 72 hrs, not 3 days. (maybe it changed?) I know this as I thought the promo was over, but it wasn't, and was able to luckily redeem the offer on the 3rd day. Did this in December 2021.

Note: there's a limit of 1 redemption / day for certain types of offer; I had done the Mob Museum coupon earlier and was told I couldn't do both in the same day.

    Nope, 24 × 3 still equals 72.

For the record, it has been my experience that the D requires the Boarding Pass to be at most the previous calendar day, but not necessarily within 24 hours of arrival

Second this. My boarding passes never had arrival times, and no one has asked. The rewards desk people only asked to see the date.

I mistyped. Meant to say that the time limit to redeem was 3 calendar days (or 72 hours? don't remember the T&C that was posted) vs just 24 hrs / 1 day, at least specifically for the El Cortez.

I always understood the "One" properties to be $50 in matchplay for Spirit at The D and Allegiant at Golden Gate. I'd be very curious to get confirmation that Southwest fits into this as well, as mentioned above.

As for El Cortez, I can speak to this personally having redeemed it just about every year. Indeed it is for ANY airline, ONCE per calendar year only, and you can only use ONE such offer per day (i.e., you cannot do the boarding pass offer and the ACG offer in the same day). With regard to the latter, I recall in 2019 or so informing a couple at the ElCo player's club desk trying to redeem the SlotLady promo (show you're subscribed to her on YouTube and get $10 FSP, I think) that they could get a much better offer if they flew in recently and have their boarding passes handy, even if just electronic. After breaking down the offer as $10 matchplay, $10 to $1,000 FSP, and a free drink, I asked the desk agent if the boarding pass offer can be combined with the SlotLady offer and I'll never forget how she said to me "Unfortunately it's only one per day, but if you want a job here you're hired" :)

With regard to timing... I understand The D and GG to be "flexible" on same-day or next-day redemptions. However as of last spring at El Cortez I recall them saying you can redeem the boarding pass offer up to TEN days after arrival. I know this because I only made it there about two weeks after flying into town which was past the cutoff :( luckily I was able to redeem it last month, being within the same calendar year. Obviously, the sooner you redeem it the better, just to avoid any hassles.

Hi @notfromconcentrate I only fly Southwest to Vegas and have for the last three years always been able to get $50 in matchplays at the D when I show the Southwest boarding pass within the next calendar day of the boarding pass. I had been able somehow to get multiple extra $25 matchplays by asking for the Richard Wilks promo. Since I typically visit with Wife, that means we score between $100 to $150 in matchplays a trip. Sometimes the Wife plays them, sometimes we squirrel them away for another trip or two.
