It's definitely not loud enough to barely notice, and I'd put it at the "chill and better level" if you're a Gen Xer, like the Plaza runs but leans a bit younger.
Much more like a volume level of 5 than 11.
Great quieter spot to run to if Fremont volume overwhelms you, table games only on weekends pretty much though. (also like Plaza, or Cal or MSS for that matter)

Thanks. I’m a gen wrinkle. I know I tire quickly of the music at QQQQ and MSS with the ballads.
I’ve started just listening to the SiriusXM stream most times

That is a fast casual style restaurant with an expectation of that level of service, like lots of quick pizza and burger counters all over Vegas. Circa also has a full array of restaurants open during normal business hours, unlike DTG.

Freedom beat is a sit down restaurant with a built in music venue. It is weird and cheap looking to have this service set up. A Denny's can staff one waitress at 2 am but Freedom Beat can't at 10 am?

I’ve heard that the table games at DTG are actually open on Mondays now (but still closed Tuesdays & Wednesday), can anyone who’s been there recently confirm? My Vegas trip isn’t until January 2nd anyway so it may change by then, but if they’re at least open that Monday I may go downtown just for the $5 craps table, those are increasingly hard to find…..

Ran 5k coin through their bartop 8/5 BP back in early May in hopes of getting some minor offers.... but I have yet to receive a piece of mail from them. Spoke with a friend who's sharp and he indicated that they run a slot club software that is theo based - similar to Boyd - which would explain why I never received any mail. Doesn't look like the DTG is worth the time of a sharp video poker player....

I have never liked it from the time it opened, with the exception of the pool area. I like the pool area. The one meal I had at Freedom Beat was terrible in price, quality, and service. This was before COVID, so that cannot be used for an excuse. The casino itself is just way way too bright for me. For some reason, I swear they bought the brightest, flashiest slot machines they could find, and they all look the same to me. Never could find a machine I liked. I used to wander over there every trip to see if anything has changed, but have given up on it now.

Can anyone confirm that tables still open at 10am on Thursday? Might drop in for some $5 (or $10) 3/2 BJ.

When I played in May, it was 11am...I was one of the vultures hovering at 10:55 in anticipation of the opening.

I was there again this past Friday. I played at about 3pm for a nickel, and a crew was setting up the second table displaying a $5 min. I colored up before it opened, so I'm not sure if they had two $5 running simultaneously.

I know it gets now love, but with basically zero play I'm getting a much better deal for Fri/Sat through them during NRF than any other hotel so I'll take it. Honestly I kinda liked the quiet little Casino when I was there last. Craps dealers were good for a laugh and people were having fun, but I'm sure it's super dead during the week.

I was at DTG the first weekend in November. Here are their table hours. On Saturday, craps was $5 until 7 PM, and $10 after 7 PM.

    Thanks @RedChip
I was looking to get this confirmed.

Any chance you can confirm what blackjack they are offering during daytime? 3/2 at the $5 or $10 level?

No I can't. They had a $1 6/5 table that caught my eye because they were advertising it, but I didn't look at the others.

Haven't been there in a couple of years but they always offered me good comps. Never paid for a room and a couple of times was comped suites and rooms for my friends.

This has been my experience too. I don’t play big - maybe lose like $700-$1,000 on machines or tables per trip (I don’t worry about coin-in, etc), but I haven’t paid for a room on my last 5 trips. I just respond to the email offers and they set it up. I like the place a lot, and I’ll be back tomorrow for my third stay there in the past 6 weeks. It is my favorite place downtown.

I think being a new casino they just bought the latest machines at opening which at the time (2013 iirc) was around the time that slots started going to much bigger screens, curved screens, with lots of LED lighting everywhere.

Prior to that I think most slots were on 4:3 aspect ratio screens, many of them still CRT, with more subdued lighting, perhaps due to use of incandescent sources. They were definitely narrower and shorter as well.

Even in 2022, there's still lots of those legacy machines around at older properties albeit with CRT screens upgraded to flat panel screens and coin dropping upgraded to TITO.

I kind of prefer the pre-LED era of machines but I'm not much of a slot guy so maybe my opinion doesn't count. It would be nice to see more of a mix of older slots out there but I'm guessing the market has spoken and that's why they are going away fast.

If it's one thing that casinos have, it's mountains of data on what people are playing and what they aren't.
