Not sure if this was posted earlier, if it was I apologize. Can't help but think of all the folks here who posted about how loose some of the patrons were at the Cosmos.

Went there in early June. It's super obvious. So many young people. And they turned Clique into a club which had a line to get in. They did have security at entrances and throughout the casino floor to enforce masks but at night during the weekends the crowd was just too outnumbering to possibly enforce masks

So the article says Cosmo 1, Bellagio 2, Raiders Stadium 6.... either I missed it or the Review Journel writer is a poor journalist... how about showing the entire list?

A conspiracy theory mind would suggest that Sands is somewhere in the 3, 4 or 5 range. :poke:

Just kidding. I believe there is a detention center, a nursing home and something else I already forgot in the middle there.

I wanted to point something else out about this list. It is from data through 8/6. Also, it is not a count of all people who tested positive, but those who agreed to participate in contact tracing.

This is more of a commentary than a factual article. No different than our opinions here on VMB. Except for a broader reach....

If was meant to harm the Cosmo...that would be sad!!!

They've remediated some of the issues from earlier, but it still makes some sense just because of the casino footprint. It's small, only has the one center aisle, and the restaurant areas on 2 and 3 are basically laid out like food courts. It's an uphill battle for them from the get-go and they got off on the back foot.

I have a 6 night stay booked there next month and right now, I'm still planning on going. But you won't be seeing me in the casino except really early in the morning. But I am being cautious in general, I'm also staying at either Vdara or Bally's and I'm doing the same thing there.

It also makes sense that Cosmo and Bellagio are tops because I’d assume those properties are likely the top two in terms of foot traffic. Any visitor that gets sick has a good chance of having been in both.

i like watching vegas walkthrough videos. seems that downtown vegas is more lively than the strip. Surprised that it's properties are ranked so low. But i wonder what would happen if they considered downtown one whole entity rather than separate..

I'm actually surprised that the bellagio is ranked so high... and surpsied that Cosmo is out ahead by so much. It's an embarrassing PR nightmare. Also surprised Flamingo is so low. I went to Vegas in June and it seemed Cosmo and Flamingo were the rowdiest, youngest, and more packed than the rest of the strip. Paris seemed super tamed.

So many people that stay on the Strip have at least one visit to Downtown during their trip. If you phrased that as a contact tracing questions it would surely skew that way. As in, “I felt perfectly safe where I stayed on the Strip, but we all did go Downtown one afternoon...”

I'm assuming it's because of all the extra visitors Bellagio gets to see the fountains and see the Conservatory on top of the people staying at the hotel and gambling there. With it being a contact tracing study that adds a lot more people who will have visited Bellagio compared to Flamingo.

So, am I missing something? Over 800 from LV casinos but only 22 of those also passed thru the airport?

Surprised Sahara isn’t high on the list. After all the doom & gloom shutdown rumors, I thought they’d be high on the list. Maybe relevant people declined to participate in contact tracing as alluded to above.

I think the limited sample is the key here. No way elbow to elbow Fremont street is 6x "safer" than Bellagio, unless everything we've been told is science is just flat wrong. But Sahara, I mean, ya cant get a ride there, so I'm not surprised. When we were stuck there for an hour after dinner at prime time on the actual 4 the of July there weren't but maybe 25 people in that whole front area of the casino. It was a total ghost town, and that was evening on a Saturday night that was also a holiday and the middle of a 3 day weekend.it had about the same crowd density that Bellagio had at 6am the following Tuesday.
