I was sure hoping to sit at the bar and have a few drinks to get the trip started.

Thanks for the update and pictures. Was thinking this might be one of those trips with pictures from the airport and plane but nothing else.

It was a busy day. I soon as I checked in @bubbakitty and @jimboguy found me. I headed to my room to put my stuff away and found this.

    IMG_20200604_110820.jpg IMG_20200604_110821.jpg IMG_20200604_110824.jpg IMG_20200604_110825.jpg

Got another room, then my phone wouldn't trust the wifi.

Taking it easy this morning playing VP and hitting the room for some work stuff.

I asked the clerk how could the room be dirty if yall have been closed. She said they had staff staying here getting things ready.

getting a room "used" and unclean especially with the procedures they promised to have in place..
I would very sternly state that and ask for a very good upgrade with free food added.

Agree!!! That is pretty amazingly stupid and dangerous given the reason they have been closed for the last three months! This doesn't instill confidence in their cleaning procedures...
Glad you got it squared away, but man...
Good luck on the rest of your trip!!!

I will add (as to prep time up to now), playing 9/6 JoB near the cafe at 4Q’s I noticed the presence of”grime”(?) next to the deal button on the machine. I used a “towelette” to clean it 88FEA929-8797-42DA-9246-54352161034F.jpeg but all this time to clean the place up and that? Also they were reupholstering a blackjack table about 9:30 in the am yesterday. All were closed this morning with NO dealers present. But you couldn’t do the honey do’s with the shutdown?

Between this and the dirty room above, I am losing the little faith I had in the casino operator's COVID plans. If they aren't getting the basics right, how can they possibly be properly doing all of the sanitizing they are supposedly doing.

Well. Some are. There is plexiglass between booths overlooking the casino floor at 4Q’s. The guy in the corner booth left and the bus girl thoroughly wiped down the table, both seats (the guy was eating alone) and the plexiglass with liquid from a spray bottle. It took her about 3-5 minutes. No one was seated again before I left about 20 minutes later.

Here's been my experience getting in the casinos.
At The Cal and Fremont you walk past what appears to be a thermal scanner monitored by security. Usually I just walk past and say Hi. Twice while coming in the door nearest Binion's I was stopped and they did the no-touch forehead check then I was allowed in.

At The D you walk through what looks like a metal detector but before you step in you have to hold you palm out in front of a sensor then the let you in.

At Binion's you just go in. If they are monitoring temps it's not obvious.

Wow! You should have @notfromconcentrate call this hotel up and he will get you the biggest suite and all other goodies. This is truly unacceptable

This will probably shock anybody reading this, but I'd actually cut the hotel a bit of slack here. This is a hotel that hasn't closed its doors since it opened in 1975, so adapting to re-opening is not a routine procedure by any stretch of the imagination... thus I think it can be expected for a few hiccups to happen, especially when it comes to room allocation if they're operating at a limited capacity.

Don't get me wrong... I definitely think that politely requesting a food credit or some other thing is justified here (upgrades aren't really possible at the Cal), especially if you have to wait around for a clean room. But at a time like this I think you need to be patient with everybody since it's completely uncharted territory for both the property and its employees.
