I actually love them. I love the designs and the 8 cent denominations. Dancing Drums is a fave.

But I agree, there are SO many anymore.

The Leprechaun themed slots seem like the new trend-I saw a lot on my February trips. Not sure how I feel about those.

Not the new ones with 88 multiples of coins or with tons of lights and lines and sounds.

But I always like the old Asian-themed slots such as Jade Monkey, Jade Elephant, Great Wall etc.

Not a fan. I am partial to the old school reel slots.

There is something to it, and not in the way you think. Most of the Asian themed games are games with 243, 1024, etc ways to win and feature no paylines. This means they're very volatile, so lots and lots of losers but also some very large hits mixed in.

Personally I can't stand these games, mostly because almost all of them feature some sort of dumb interim picking jackpot bonus that almost always results in wasting my time for a $10 Mini.

They're not my preferred slot and I avoid them as I would any other slot (or video poker machine) that I don't want to play.

I too, have noticed an influx of Asian-themed slots at some local casinos of mine, but in Vegas it seems to be pretty spread out (sure there's plenty, but there seems to be plenty of everything else also).

I usually don't like them ONLY because a lot of the ones I pick have the "slow bleed" approach where I get small kick backs but no big wins. So if I bet $ I might get lots of little 34 or 45 cent win backs on the dollar. A "big win" might be $6-$8. I know these machines DO pay out for some, I just never seem to do well, so I avoid them.

There are a few I've liked. MGM has some 3 bar expensive ones I like, I like Fortune Gong (no big wins, but solid enough to play for awhile as comp maker at times).

I also love the mighty cash double up with the tiger and symbols.

So, basically I don't play them as much only because some of the ones I hit with the cute chubby babies or gold pot have the slow bleed feel. But so does the little dirty devils game, or whatever that is, and that bugs me too!
