Roundtrip/non-stop flight via Spirit (CLE-LAS and LAS-CLE) was only $82 total. No bag needed. Seats assigned were fine. Solid flights with no complaints.

Stayed at Sams Town Sat-Mon and Mon-Wed stayed at California all on a comp. Check in quick and smooth at both places. The free shuttle between ST and both the Strip and downtown was efficient and saved me money on Uber/Lyft.

Anyways, ST was pretty cool. Loved the atrium look which is where my room looked over. Had a handicapped room because that is what was comped. No big deal, just a large shower. Comfy bed but wasn’t a fan of the flatter pillows. Big big TV. Very clean. Wasn’t overly noisy either.

First night, won $150 real quick, lost that and another $200...couldnt get my head above water, slots/VP...just couldnt hit another think. Turned +$150 into -$200 in a couple of hours. To drown my sorrows, I got a BigMac value meal to-go. Sat in bed, ate the damn think, and drifted off to sleep. I wouldnt be lying if I said the Mac and fries were perfectly, good, seasoned, and stacked.

Woke up in the morning and hit for $175 real quick, made my losses less hurtful from the night before. Had the $4 breakfast special at TGI Fridays...vouched for no breakfast buffet and outside of McDs, not an abundance of options (but could have missed them). $4 for eggs, bacon or sausage, toast, and hash browns. They require a drink purchase so coffee it was for $3.25 lol so came to under $8 so a pretty solid deal still. Was hot and good. Played in their $25 ($35 after add-on) poker tourney Sunday morning...and of course I finished one out of the money lol however I did walk over and played kitty glitter and turned $20 into $170 which was nice. Took a shower and the free shuttle to the Strip. Had $25 FP at Cosmo. That and another $250 went rather quick. Walked over to Paris, turned pts into $25 voucher, and had the lobster roll---very very very good. Had an iced tea and the voucher covered all but $4. Took the shuttle back to to ST around 9PM and lost another $150 or so. I earned enough TCs to get a $10 voucher for the Sportsbook Deli. Although a ghost town, waited 20 mins for a Philly steak with fries and a drink. Hard to complain about the wait considering I was hungry and the total came to $2. Brought it up to the room like a pig in a trough and downed that damn thing. Steak needed seasoned but the veggies on it you can tell were fresh and not frozen. Slept in a pile of fry salt and drifted off to dreamland.

Woke up Monday and went down for another cheap breakfast. For some reason, same items were just better than the day before, not sure why. Service also very friendly and efficient. Played and lost a little more before going back to room, showering, and checking out (noon checkout is nice). Took the free shuttle down to California which was where I was staying second, so worked out perfectly. Easy check-in. Was assigned a room right above the enclosed walkway that connects Cal to MSS. Another clean and comfy room--no complaints. Nice big shower, comfy bed, etc.

Headed over to the Boars Head bar in MSS---no lucky luck but lots of drinky drink and smoky smoke. After a losing session, stopped by the Market Cafe in Cal for their $10 prime rib special. I ended up eating at this place 4 times in 2 days mostly based on price and convenience. Anyways, prime rib was tasty as was the potato and green beans--good deal and everything flavored well---even came with cherries jubilee. I pass out shortly after due to the numerous drinks I had at MSS. Woke up and walked over to the D as I wanted to play at the VUE bar. Again, no lucky luck. I DID however go over to 4 Queens and win my first ever Silver Strike--proud moment. Walked back to Cal and was hungry so as a true degen, I ordered their NY Strip steak special. I think it was $9, no more then $10---came w white rice and frozen veggies----steak was great but sides meh--slathered them for salt/pepper/butter to make it taste better. Headed to bed after counting my losses for the trip

Woke up late morning my last full day and walked over to GN to play some slots. Always enjoy the drink service there and it didnt disappoint. Think I came out ahead there but not by much. I did walk over to ABC to buy some smokes. $13----ouch. My own fault for smoking so much the first two days. Anyways the day gambling is sort of a blur. I know at some point I walked back over to Cal and ate at the Market Cafe for a third time in literally 24 hrs and got their daily special...the kalua pork and cabbage---killer meal. Once again white rice (meh) and a side of macaroni salad which was actually good. Took a siesta back in the room and at some point showered before heading over to Pizza Rock for happy hour. Got a 32oz Pabst can (fancy) and then a $7 Cal Italia pizza---Asiago, mozz, Gorgonzola, sweet fig preserve, prosciutto, and balsamic reduction----so so so good. After my meal, walked next door to Downtown Grand. Hadnt been in a couple years. Swiped my card at their kiosk and surprising had $30 FP which I used---lost another $100 over the course of 90 mins and headed over to Plaza where I earned two more Silver Strike coins---after that headed back to the Cal for a late night snack---went back to the Cafe and ordered noodle soup with large pork pieces, shrimp, and prok dumplings---ate it in bed like a savage. I think I ate as many meals in my underwear in bed as I did with clothes on--no complaints there though.

A semi-enjoyable trip. Pretty sure I lost around $1300 on gambling alone. Pretty sad on my part---just couldnt string any descent wins together. VP a total let down, not even a 4OAK at any point. Earned 608 tier credits via BOYD which should get me some comps in the future. But I shall be back...

I said this would be a quick TR but look super FN wordy to me!

@mdm4sfest - You indicated you redeemed for a $25 voucher at Paris and purchased a lobster roll. Which restaurant was this at? I haven't seen a lobster roll on a menu at any of the Paris restaurants before.

Based on pic of Bellagio, foreground looks like Mon Abi Gabi. Mon Abi Gabi's lunch menu list Main Lobster Roll for $22.95.

Thank you! Mon Ami is my breakfast go-to place. I normally eat there 2 times minimum for breakfast. Have also eaten supper there but you have made me realize I actually have never had lunch there. Might be a good thing to try this trip!

Loved Sam's Town when I stayed there two years ago. Had the same view and liked seeing the hourly show. Negative was that I felt isolated regardless of the shuttles. Also two years ago for some reason I had to pay resort fee on my comp room there. I wasn't charged resort fee at other Boyd properties however so that was weird.

It's not bad. Great selection of the machines I like.

My big gripe with them is that they took out the good dining venues and outsourced them. Their requisite 24 hour food is Mc Ronald's! :(

Yea, their food choices werent the best. Fridays has the best deals 7 days a week but I think even that closes at 2AM. Lots of food court options but that can get old quickly depending on what you like or how you like it.

The steak house is awesome. Sports book deli is good too. Everything else is average in my opinion. That would be my only gripe about Sam’s and I stay there often

Oh, you don't wanna stay there without a car, even with the shuttles. Isolated even more so now that the immediate neighborhood has gotten more and more sketchy.

I understand that taxis no longer stage there as well.
