It's been tried a couple of times in Vegas, and didn't work out, so they were discontinued.

Michigan casinos allow smoking as do Indiana's. Windsor, Ohio, and Illinois do not. Some in Michigan have really good ventilation most don't though. I understand allowing smoking I just hate it.

I'm a vegas smoker. Don't touch it at home. I smoked in my early 20s and quit long ago but in Vegas as the old adage goes when in Rome.....Plus, I smell like smoke any way being a casino and when I get back from my trip(s) I never want to see a cigarette again lol.

When I do smoke in Vegas I NEVER do it at a table. I personally think it's rude to others. When I do smoke I find an empty bank of machines and puff away. I will smoke at the bar playing VP if no one is next to me or the person I'm next to smokes.

I got a lot more replies on this thread than I ever would've imagined. lol. Like I said, I haven't smoked at a BJ table, just wanted to get some thoughts. Consensus seems to be no smoking at the table so I will continue to only smoke when I am playing slots away from others. Thanks for all the replies. I definitely don't want to be the d-bag at the table making other people suffer through me smoking.

Speaking as a former chain smoker (3 packs a day, baby!!), I like the smell of a cigarette as long as the smoke isn't drifting or being blown in my direction. Outside of that there's no problem and I despise the habit. Always appreciate when someone asks if it's OK and always tell them no problem if they can keep the smoke away from me. Never had a problem.

Not necessarily. I already didn't smoke at the table for some of the reasons people have mentioned. I will just continue to smoke when I'm at a machine, etc, but not at a table. Not that big of a deal. The dude abides. ;)

i really dont like it when they smoke on the table especially when the smoke gets in your face, and matter of fact it mostly does especially as the dealers have a little fan which blows the smoke away from them.
Some smokers are polite and decent and try to get the cigarette or cigarsmoke out of your way.....in the netherlands it even went so far that in their casinos(where i never come ) they have a special box where people can smoke(but in public and on all tables its prohibited)..and even in pubs its prohibited(i dont think the coffeeshops in amsterdam :woohoo:) anyways although nothing changed much on smokingpolicy in LV casinos nowadays they do actually have some tables where there is a no smoking sign:thumbsup:

I never smoke cigars at the BJ table. I do it only when I play slots/VP.

If you're going to smoke a cigar do it at the bar. That's where it's more acceptable.

Hollywood Casino in Toledo is smoke free iirc.

Vegas is going to get a smoke free casino at some point, and then two, and then three...

Smokers are an ever dwindling minority in this country so at some point someone is going to realize there is a viable niche in Vegas for a smoke free casino. I know it's been tried before but more people smoked before.

Back in the day when we always stayed at Stardust, we loved also gambling at Silver City. The small casino across the street. It was smokey as hell because of low ceilings and poor ventilation. They went smoke-free and it was wonderful, but they had to change back because of the business falloff. Back then, Circus also had a seperate casino room that was smoke free. I don't know if that still exists.

I loved it when Harrahs NOLA went smoke free - but I remember a lot of people thought it would really hurt their business - I haven't looked at the numbers but am guessing this wasn't the case??

Would not bother me even if I was losing. There are far more important things in life than hating smoke (unless it is in your house while it is burning).
